Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Kubernetes Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise to join our growing team. We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to use Kubernetes—we need someone who truly understands how it works at a fundamental level. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure that powers our cloud platform. You'll work with a talented team of engineers to ensure our container orchestration systems are scalable, secure, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters
- Develop and maintain container orchestration solutions and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for Kubernetes environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in containerized applications and infrastructure
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance
- Implement security best practices for container and cluster management
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support
- Document architecture, procedures, and best practices
- Work with clients directly to solve their technical problems
- Stay current with Kubernetes ecosystem developments and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals and architecture
- Experience with Cluster API
- Strong understanding of container technologies
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience with Linux system administration and networking concepts
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Strong scripting skills (Python or Go)
- Understanding of security principles and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Experience with OpenStack and cloud infrastructure
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
- Familiarity with Ceph storage solutions
