Position overview

Sports Info Solutions is seeking a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer for a remote role to support software development initiatives, write clean and maintainable code, and collaborate with engineering teams. This position will focus on assisting in the development of scalable APIs and responsive frontends, contributing to enterprise software solutions, and learning from experienced engineers to meet the complex needs of SIS customers like NFL front offices, MLB analytics teams, and Sportsbooks.

What you’ll do as Junior Full Stack Engineer on the team at SIS:

Includes (but is not limited to):

  • Develop scalable APIs and software solutions tailored to the needs of SIS customers like NFL front offices, MLB analytics teams, NBA decision-makers, and Sportsbooks serving millions of customers.
  • Create front ends, featuring cross-browser compatibility while considering client-side performance, to bring designs to life in the browser with slick user experiences.
  • Build and launch new capabilities and products that translate to wins on the field and dollars for our partners.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, testable, and reliable code.
  • Engage in software design planning, code reviews, and product development.
  • Uphold our high engineering standards and constantly elevate code quality.

Qualifications

If you possess the following, you are well on your way to making an impact at SIS:

  • Foundational experience (1-2 years, including internships or academic projects) with modern JavaScript/TypeScript libraries and tooling (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js, Next.js).
  • Experience or coursework using an Object-Oriented language like C# or Java.
  • Familiarity with REST design principles and a deep understanding of the Web.
  • Experience with relational databases and comfortable with SQL.
  • Developed against third-party APIs.
  • Comfortability with code reviews/pull requests.
  • Demonstrated the ability to deliver software as part of a team.
  • Communicated across teams to define projects and meet deadlines.
  • Consistently shown a dedication to well-documented code and Engineering processes.

Nice to have, but not required qualifications

  • Vue.js experience or ASP.NET Core experience.
  • Familiarity with a cloud computing environment such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and serverless architecture concepts.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Experience writing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of unit and integration tests.
  • Mastery of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, website performance, and accessibility.
  • Passion for sports and/or the sports betting space.

Additional info

Sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The salary range is $65,000 to $85,000.
