Summary
Forge Nano Inc. is a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets including Li-Ion Batteries. Forge Nano is seeking an Junior Equipment Engineer to join their Energy Storage Design and Manufacturing Team. This position will focus on equipment improvements and day to day operation of Forge Nano’s 1 MWh Battery Prototyping Line.
The Junior Equipment Engineer should be prepared to work in fast-paced development and prototyping environment. The role requires a detailed oriented individual who is comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, technicians, and engineers. The Junior Equipment Engineer will report to the Battery Equipment Manager.
Experience with Li-ion cell production scale up, Li-ion industrial manufacturing processes are both desirable skillsets.
Skills and Responsibilities
The Junior Equipment Engineer may be responsible for tasks and skills such as (non-exhaustive):
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to address process-related challenges in real-time.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Work closely with the Electrode Engineer and Technicians to streamline overall process.
- Communicate with equipment OEM’s and external vendors to procure spare parts to ensure continued operability of pilot line equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
- Implement safety and quality procedures.
- Serve as the technical operations specialist for regular equipment troubleshooting, retooling, and facility maintenance.
- Work with the team on detailed documentation for equipment design, operation, and upkeep
- Execute on continuous improvements projects for overall process efficiency.
- Interface with R&D scientists for build requests, manufacturing development, and scaling activities
- Assist the team with production tasks as needed
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 0-2 years maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
- Hands-on experience with various manufacturing equipment, preferably in the battery industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix equipment issues efficiently.
- Experience with equipment installation, startups, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
Work Environment
Work will predominately be in an office environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Occasional travel to vendor locations may be required.
Job Details
• $70,000-80,000
