Senior Software Test Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an Senior Software Test Engineer to support the testing and quality assurance of enterprise applications. In this role, you will be responsible for validating software functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring systems meet quality and performance standards prior to release. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with manual and automated testing, SQL queries for data validation, and troubleshooting complex system issues. Experience working in Linux environments and familiarity with payment systems and performance testing concepts are preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate application functionality
• Perform manual and automated testing to ensure system quality and reliability
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
• Write SQL queries to validate data accuracy and support troubleshooting efforts
• Review application logs and debugging information to identify root causes of issues
• Work within Linux environments and utilize shell scripting when needed
• Support automation efforts using industry standard testing tools
• Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirement analysis, testing, and deployment validation
• Assist with performance testing activities and support system performance validation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery
Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Expertise in QA practices and software testing tools
• Experience writing SQL queries and debugging logs from test execution
• Software automation experience using industry standard tools
• Hands-on experience working in Linux environments
• Shell scripting experience
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and web client technologies
• Understanding of full system development life cycles (SDLC)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine root causes of issues
• Experience with performance testing tools and concepts
• Knowledge of payment systems preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $85,470-$105,000.
