Description:
Duties / Responsibilities
· Document current Banner system architecture
· Gather system requirements from other College Savings Plan organizations that have recently upgraded their account holding system (within last 5-8 years)
· Evaluate, determine, and document the requirements for a new account holder system that addresses Maryland 529's needs to support the agile development approach (Epics, Features, User Stories).
· Assist Maryland 529 team with developing a transition plan for eventually managing the transition from the current legacy Banner system to a new system.
· Assist Maryland 529 team with writing the RFP for the new account holder system as needed.
Required Skills
A. Education:
l. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
B. General Experience:
1. At least ten (10) years of experience planning, designing, building, and implementing lT systems.
C. Specialized Experience:
1. At least five (5) years of the required ten (10) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major
projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large
complex system and subsystem architectures. Must have led or been chief architect in major lT implementation efforts. Must demonstrate a broad understanding of client lT environmental
issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the lT industry. Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and
verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills
a. Education:
1. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
b. General Experience:
1. At least twelve (12) years of experience planning, designing, building, and implementing lT systems.
c. Specialized Experience:
1. Experience in financial database management systems, documenting workflow, and business processing rules.
2. Possess experience working with lT systems used within state/federal agencies.
3. Possess experience in documenting requirements for an Agile Development project(s).
