IT Summer Intern

The IT Intern will help plan and contribute to our information technology projects. The intern will work side-by side with full-time employees and leaders to perform project work that directly impacts the day-to day business. The intern will be challenged to demonstrate their strengths and apply their knowledge to help with IT driven initiatives at Covius.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate and help design/develop software applications and enhance their functionality.

• Contribute individually and/or as a team member to analyze business processes, and work towards goals and objectives.

• Conduct research, gather, organize, and analyze data and requirements.

• Interact with and support a variety of business departments and participate in projects that directly impact business value.

• Build professional relationships and enhance interpersonal skills.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Currently enrolled in an Information Systems or Computer Science related program

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages: C#, C++, JAVA, or SQL.

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages and share/receive knowledge.

• Demonstrates strong computer skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office.

• Additional skills, knowledge, and experience may be required based on the type of functions the incumbent will perform.

• Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Compensation

• Compensation: $23 an hour

Working Conditions

This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with in-office presence. Interns will be expected to maintain a professional home office environment and be available to work on-site as scheduled or as business needs require. Work is performed both remotely and in a standard office setting. Flexible work hours may be available, with expectations to attend meetings and collaborate during core business hours. Reliable internet access is required for remote work, along with the ability to be on camera to participate in virtual meetings and communications. During in-office days, work is performed in a climate-controlled office with standard lighting and noise levels. Interns must comply with company policies regarding data security, time tracking, and collaboration tools across both work environments.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the intern/employee is regularly required to communicate. The intern/employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The intern/employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The intern/employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds. Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen).  Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
