Ibotta is seeking an IT Internal Audit Director to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This role offers the opportunity to own and shape the company’s IT audit program end-to-end, leading high-impact audits across infrastructure, applications, data, and security. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional leaders to drive select operational, financial, compliance, and special projects that meaningfully influence the business. In addition, you’ll play a critical role in SOX 404 IT controls, translating risk and control insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.
What you will be doing:
Conduct an annual IT Risk Assessment to assist in the update of the Internal Audit Evergreen Audit Plan.
Assist and support the SOX404 Compliance Lead in annual scoping and coordination with the Company’s annual SOX 404 testing initiatives, including assisting Management in scoping controls and processes, testing controls as necessary and reviewing controls test work.
Identify and assess the implementation of new internal controls as needed.
Provide guidance to management on Sarbanes-Oxley control issues and deficiency management.
Plan, scope, and execute internal audits as listed in the annual Internal Audit Plan (IT, Operational, Financial, Compliance, Management/Audit Committee special requests, etc.).
Supervise staff and consultant resources as necessary.
Ensure all audits are appropriately documented.
Hold the business accountable for the resolution of high and medium priority actions.
Compile auditing reports for presentation to Management and the Audit Committee.
Ensure close relationships, coordination and communications are maintained with management and the external auditors.
Serve as a change agent to influence behaviors and bridge silos across the organization, to solve problems and achieve strategic objectives.
Lead and mentor the internal audit team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Oversee and manage the hiring and training of qualified internal and external staff resources. Coach and mentor members for performance and development. Set standards for the quality and documentation of their work.

What we are looking for:
10+ years of experience in IT internal audit
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA) is preferred
Ability to contribute to the career development of staff and a culture of teamwork.
Comprehensive knowledge of IT auditing practices, procedures, and principles, sufficient to interpret and analyze complex concepts and apply them in innovative ways.
Capability to evaluate the effectiveness of management’s compliance with established corporate policy and procedures, including corporate governance, code of conduct standards, and business ethics and conduct policy.
Creative approaches and solutions necessary to solve complex problems.
Proven written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with and presenting to senior management and audit committees.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle conflicts, listen to others, flexibility in communication style, and respond professionally.
Driven to deliver quality results on time, with a high degree of integrity, in a highly ethical and professional manner.
Self-reliance and strong initiative as well as solid business judgment.
Resourcefulness and excellent analytical abilities.
Deep knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 compliance.

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $152,000 - $167,000. Equity is included in the overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
