To meet the International Tax Practice’s continued expansion and demand, RKL is seeking an International Tax Manager to join our dynamic International Tax Practice. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive tax solutions to multinational clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside passionate and collaborative professionals who are committed to excellence and client-focused advisory services in the field of international taxation.
RKL is seeking an International Tax Manager to join the team to enable further growth in this practice. The International Tax Manager will work closely with the International Tax Practice Leader and the rest of the International Tax Practice team to provide a wide variety of compliance and consulting services for both U.S.-based and foreign-owned clients. In addition, the International Tax Manger will be a resource to the firm and aid in the development of other international tax team members.Success Factors

Responsibilities:

Client Advisory and Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to multinational clients, delivering comprehensive tax services including worldwide tax minimization, transfer pricing or accounting for income taxes
  • Address multiple complex tax issues, providing clear and concise communication to clients and internal team members in a non-technical manner
  • Cultivate strong client relationship through proactive communication and tailored advisory solutions
     

Tax Strategy and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies that ensure tax compliance, and mitigate cross-border taxation for U.S. multinational entities and foreign-owned businesses
  • Oversee the preparation and review U.S. international tax-related returns including foreign subsidiaries, related-party disclosures, non-resident entity returns and foreign tax credit calculations

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to firm-wide and International Tax team members, fostering their professional growth and technical expertise
  • Lead training sessions and workshops to enhance team knowledge on international tax matters
     

Business Development:

  • Contribute to new business development by participating in prospect meetings, networking events, and proposal management
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities
     

Continuous Learning and Research:

  • Engage in continuous learning activities to improve and develop international tax technical expertise and current business and economic issues
  • Conduct active research to identify trends and regulatory changes in international taxation

Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, International Business or related field. Advanced degrees such as a Masters in Taxation are a plus.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in international tax compliance with demonstrated expertise in Forms such as 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, and 1118
  • Experience in advising multinational clients on international tax issues and strategies
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to learn and adapt to the evolving international tax landscape, including staying updated on regulatory changes and industry trends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and technologically-savvy
Essential Functions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be required

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $150,000
