Job Purpose

As the International Business Development Manager, you will lead our efforts in generating cross-border demand and establishing robust international trade networks. In this role your responsibilities will span high-level strategy down to business operations tasks. It will be a strategic partner to the leadership team to build the business plan for Sabi’s entry into the Global market. She/He will be responsible for strategic initiatives, overseeing the organization’s budget and financial operations, program management, and communicating objectives to all relevant stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plan to build and strengthen our business capacity within the Global market, executing a strategic partnership with the Co-Founder, Head of Corporate Development.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to qualify developing business opportunities; leverages industry contacts for strategic intelligence; and alliance.
  • Manages data, business partnerships and project opportunities required to meet metrics for success.
  • Analyzes target/bid reviews and provides ongoing feedback to senior management on the status of capture efforts and the opportunity of continued investment of time and resources in developing business opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and subject-matter expert to internal and external partners and represent the international trade plan at meetings, in the office, and externally.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and procedures to enhance the company’s business development and recruiting practices.
  • Specialize in global distribution strategies, the imports market, international logistics, and supply chain management with an understanding of the intricacies of import/export processes, regulations, and full compliance standards in the US, European and/Asian markets.
  • Bring international business experience to the table, facilitating global partnerships and understanding diverse market dynamics.




Requirements
Special Skills and Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in International Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful business development in the commodities sector, with a focus on agriculture.
  • Minimum of 10 years as in international business development with considerable exposure to commodities trading and export operations
  • Self-starter with drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets – from scratch.
  • Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.
  • Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies. 
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Could be based anywhere in Africa or Europe
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
