Cast & Crew is seeking a UX & AI Engineering Intern to join our Technology & Product team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience building modern user experiences using React, AI-assisted development tools, and emerging agentic frameworks. You will work alongside experienced engineers and product designers to develop frontend interfaces, experiment with AI-powered development workflows using Claude Code and explore Model Context Protocol (MCP) agents for data modeling, automation, and developer productivity.  
This role offers exposure to the intersection of UX design, frontend engineering, and AI-assisted software development, helping build tools and experiences used across Cast & Crew’s digital platform for the entertainment industry. 

What You’ll Do 

• Assist in building modern frontend interfaces using React and TypeScript 
• Use Claude Code and AI-assisted development tools to help generate, review, and improve application code 
• Experiment with MCP-based agent workflows to support data modeling, development automation, and developer productivity 
• Support development of reusable UI components and design system patterns 
• Help translate UX designs and wireframes into functional frontend components 
• Participate in code reviews, QA testing, and automated testing workflows 
• Help review AI-generated code and validate functionality, security, and performance 
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and demos 
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to improve user experience and application usability 

  

What We’re Looking For 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering 
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated curiosity in engineering and technology 
• Foundational programming experience with JavaScript or TypeScript 
• Basic familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks 
• Interest in UX design, interface development, and frontend architecture 
• Curiosity about AI-assisted software development and agent-based systems 
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  

Nice to Have 

• Exposure to React component development and modern frontend tooling 
• Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, or UI frameworks 
• Interest in AI development tools such as Claude Code or similar LLM-assisted coding tools 
• Experience with unit testing frameworks or frontend QA practices 
• Coursework or personal projects involving UX design, product design, or interactive applications

Special Work Conditions   

• Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. The compensation range for this position is: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
