The Technology team has an exciting opportunity for a Full Stack Developer Intern to gain hands-on experience in software design, development, testing, and debugging within a healthcare insurance environment. This internship provides real-world exposure to full stack application development while supporting solutions that improve business outcomes, efficiency, and user experience.
Interns will work alongside experienced software engineers in small, collaborative teams to solve problems, enhance existing applications, and explore new technologies. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, team-oriented, and eager to apply software engineering fundamentals in a professional setting.
Key Duties
Assist with the design, development, testing, and debugging of full stack applications
Document and test changes and enhancements to existing applications and tools
Support maintenance and improvements to current systems and development processes
Research technologies, frameworks, and solutions that may improve application performance and usability
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Participate in team working sessions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities
Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on computer science, software engineering, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field
3.0 overall GPA
Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
Experience with programming fundamentals and object-oriented concepts
Exposure to one or more programming languages or frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, .NET, C#, Java, Python, or similar)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Potential Projects
Enhance or extend existing web-based applications
Assist with development of new features across front-end and back-end components
Improve application performance, usability, or documentation
Research and prototype tools or technologies to support development best practices

Work-at-home requirements
- Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
- Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
- Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

The hiring range for this position is $43,160 - $54,600 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $60,840 USD.
