R1’s Insurance Discovery team is seeking a Business Analyst to support the rapidly growing Insurance Discovery line of business. This role partners with internal stakeholders and clients to drive innovation and process improvement, identify and implement strategic initiatives, and enhance efficiency and productivity.
The Business Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for the assigned domain and R1 business processes, evaluate and recommend system solutions, and deliver clear requirements and communication across teams. The role also involves analyzing client-provided data within the Insurance Discovery platform to validate accurate data ingestion and reporting.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate and deliver comprehensive data analysis reports to internal stakeholders and client leadership. Facilitate data-driven decision-making during the initial implementation phase and throughout the continuous lifecycle of the contract to ensure optimal revenue performance.
- Technical Liaison & Requirements Management: Serve as the primary technical intermediary between clients and internal development/configuration teams. Synthesize complex client requirements into actionable technical specifications to ensure system alignment with organizational objectives.
- Documentation Excellence: Demonstrate a meticulous approach to the creation and maintenance of internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical guides, and user manuals, ensuring all documentation is accurate, accessible, and detail-oriented.
- Data Integrity & Quality Assurance: Develop, execute, and maintain sophisticated scripts designed to audit client data files. Ensure the ongoing accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data ingestion processes to prevent revenue leakage.
- Professional Client Advocacy: Deliver exceptional customer service and account management, fostering high-level client satisfaction and maintaining R1’s reputation as a premier strategic partner.
- Legacy System Stewardship: Provide high-tier technical support for legacy systems through their decommissioning. Manage end-to-end troubleshooting, conduct formal root cause analysis (RCA), generate business-critical reports, and monitor system health to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Function as a high-impact team contributor, collaborating across departments to drive operational excellence and support a culture of collective success.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred, including exposure to hospital and/or professional billing
- 2+ years of SQL development experience; Spark SQL/Databricks experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support or client-facing technical role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis
- Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Health System Revenue Cycle domain expertise preferred
