The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging, effective, and learner-centered instructional materials for various delivery modalities, including e-learning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), and blended learning solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design theory and practice, a working knowledge of learning technologies, and a passion for improving learning outcomes.
**This will be a 2-month contract position**
Analyze learning needs through collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and end users.
Design and develop instructional materials including storyboards, course outlines, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and multimedia content.
Build and deploy e-learning modules using tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Adobe Captivate.
Apply instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or Agile to learning development.
Ensure alignment of learning objectives with business goals and performance outcomes.
Evaluate and revise learning materials based on learner feedback, business impact, and evolving needs.
Manage learning projects from conception to delivery within defined timelines and budgets.
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and apply inclusive design principles.
Partner with L&D teams, HR, and departmental leaders to roll out new training initiatives.
Leverage learning management systems (LMS) to assign, track, and report on training.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
5 + years of experience in instructional design or corporate training.
Proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate or Creative Suite).
Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and best practices.
Experience designing content for diverse formats (e-learning, ILT, vILT, microlearning).
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e.g., Cornerstone, Workday, or Moodle.
Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and other e-learning standards.
Familiarity with video editing and screen recording software.
Experience in a regulated or technical environment (e.g., healthcare, pharma, IT, finance) is a plus.
