Job Description
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
The Digital Experience and Enablement Intern supports the alignment of technology solutions with business needs within the SMS IT Organization. Working under the guidance of a Lead IT Business Relationship Manager and Digital Experience Lead, the intern assists with discovery, documentation, and delivery activities that improve efficiency and enable technology business outcomes. This is an entry level role focused on learning, collaboration, and hands-on support for technology initiatives.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
What You'll Do:

• Assist with discovery by gathering basic business requirements, documenting needs, and helping define scope during early-stage discussions.
• Help translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories with guidance from mentors.
• Partner with cross-functional IT teams to plan and deliver solutions, ensuring clarity on expectations and outcomes.
• Support project coordination tasks including tracking progress, maintaining action lists, and preparing simple status updates for stakeholders.
• Support Digital Employee Experience improvements by assisting with M365 adoption, SharePoint modernization, and Power Platform readiness
• Perform entry level analysis using Excel and introductory SQL or Power BI to validate data, create simple reports, and visualize findings.
• Assist with experience-based insights, DEX score reviews, and sentiment analysis to improve proactive IT support
• Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and document opportunities for process improvements.
• Build trusted relationships and encourage alignment across business and IT stakeholders while influencing without authority.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Hourly Rate: $26.50 - $35.75
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2027. We will also accept students enrolled in a graduate degree program.
• Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Foundational understanding of IT service delivery, compliance, operations, and project management from coursework or projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
• Collaborative, self-directed, and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Exposure to requirements gathering, project coordination, or demand management through classes, clubs, or internships.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Hands-on experience with Excel including pivot tables and charts.
• Experience supporting process or system changes that improved value or performance in an academic or extracurricular setting.
• Interest in aerospace and defense or similarly regulated environments and willingness to learn controls relevant to closed or classified settings.
• Professional curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $49592 - $68993
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
