Procon Consulting is seeking a Lead Indoor GIS / Digital Twin Developer (remote, US‑based) to plan, develop, integrate, and maintain indoor GIS “digital twin” solutions that connect BIM, ArcGIS Indoors, CMMS (e.g., Maximo), Survey123, cloud document repositories, ArcGIS‑oriented imagery, and other facilities data sources for operations and maintenance. This senior role (roughly equivalent in complexity to GS‑13) combines project management and technical leadership on future client projects, including occasional on‑site work and conference support across the country.

You will lead end‑to‑end delivery of indoor GIS / digital twin projects: scoping and planning work, coordinating with clients and partners, running Agile‑style sprints, and serving either as project manager or as technical lead reporting to a PM, depending on the engagement. You will design and implement ArcGIS Indoors solutions (indoor geodatabases, facilities/floor layers, 2D/3D web maps and scenes) and build BIM‑to‑GIS workflows to convert validated Revit models (architectural, structural, MEP) and COBie asset data, prepared by BIM specialists, into indoor GIS, including georeferencing, level attribution, multipatch geometry, and points of interest.

Working closely with BIM specialists, you will consume and import vetted BIM models, COBie exports, and other curated asset data into GIS rather than performing primary BIM/COBie authoring or assessment yourself. You will also import and integrate additional datasets such as historical drawings and legacy documentation in various formats (e.g., DWG, PDFs) as appropriate base or reference layers within the digital twin environment.

The role is responsible for implementing and enforcing data architectures and workflows that respect established “sources of truth” across BIM, GIS, CMMS, and document repositories, and for operating data reconciliation and visualization tools that depend on those validated inputs. You will design, configure, and maintain integrations between indoor GIS and CMMS and related systems, using ETL/orchestration tools (such as FME or equivalent) and, where appropriate, direct API‑based integrations between ArcGIS and CMMS platforms.

A key focus is ArcGIS‑oriented imagery: designing workflows to ingest 360° construction and facility imagery (e.g., from OpenSpace or similar tools) into ArcGIS as oriented imagery datasets, using Python, APIs, and geoprocessing tools to expose imagery as services tied to floor plans and asset locations. You will integrate these reality‑first imagery layers with Indoors maps/scenes so end‑users can navigate floorplans and launch context‑aware 360° views as part of the digital twin experience.

You will also lead GIS‑side data reconciliation and quality workflows (e.g., Experience‑Builder or similar apps) to help align BIM, GIS, and CMMS records based on already‑validated data, and develop reusable templates, reference geodatabases, and SOPs to scale solutions across portfolios. In addition, you will support ongoing operations (model/data updates, performance tuning, user support) and contribute to proposals, estimates, and solution roadmaps for new and existing Procon clients.

This is a remote US‑based position with occasional travel to Procon HQ in Northern Virginia and to customer locations and conferences nationwide.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 7+ years of progressive GIS or related experience, including at least 3 years focused on indoor GIS, BIM/GIS integration, or digital twin solutions, and 2+ years in a lead or project management role.
  • Advanced experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro, including ArcGIS Indoors configuration, indoor geodatabase design, and publishing/administration of 2D maps and 3D scenes for facilities.
  • Hands‑on experience with Autodesk Revit–to‑GIS workflows, including consuming validated BIM models and COBie (or similar) asset data prepared by BIM specialists, and configuring indoor GIS using that vetted content.
  • Ability to import and manage additional facility data such as historical drawings and legacy documentation, including DWG and PDF, as GIS‑ready layers or reference content.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing integrations between GIS and CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo), using either ETL/orchestration tools (such as FME or equivalent) and/or direct REST/JSON/API‑based integrations between ArcGIS and CMMS.
  • Practical experience configuring and using ESRI Survey123 (or similar) for field data collection and work order / asset update workflows tied into GIS and integration pipelines.
  • Experience working with ArcGIS‑oriented imagery: creating oriented imagery datasets and web services from 360° photo sources, and integrating them with indoor maps, scenes, and digital twin applications.
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise geodatabases, schema design, and geoprocessing automation in ArcGIS Pro, including the use of custom tools and templates.
  • Strong systems thinking skills and the ability to design solutions spanning BIM, GIS, CMMS, imagery, and cloud document repositories in collaboration with BIM specialists and other SMEs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and translating operational needs into concrete requirements and work plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, lead iterative development cycles, and mentor or guide junior technical staff.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to Northern Virginia HQ and to client sites and conferences across the United States.
