Job Description
The Independent Agency (IA) Countrywide Sales Director is responsible for profitable growth and increased market share within an assigned region. The role is accountable for all aspects of strategy development for Specialty Vehicle, Household and Flood sales within their assigned region. The role leads a consolidated team of sales leaders and network of agents with the goal of achieving sales and profitability targets while fostering a culture of embracing change, talent development and shared purpose.In addition, this leader will serve as the primary liaison for technology integration across IA sales channels, ensuring tools align with overall sales strategy and drive effective adoption. They will lead optimization of automation solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability, while monitoring performance metrics to evaluate the impact of technology and IA initiatives. They will foster strong cross-functional collaboration and guide change management efforts to support successful implementation and sustained adoption.

Key Responsibilities
Serves as a role model within the Specialty Vehicle, Household and Flood sales organization, encouraging root cause problem solving, best practice sharing and continuous improvement
Proactively analyzes data and analytics to evaluate business strategies against current results, adapts to changing market pressures and redeploys resources during current and future M&A activity
Establishes and communicates operational goals and measures aligned to business strategy to direct reports and employees
Monitors, evaluates and adapts sales organizational structure to maximize employee and agent resources in current and future M&A activity, including role segmentation, incentive compensation and critical skill development
Leads all talent-related efforts to strengthen talent pipeline, including encouraging professional development, monitoring succession for key roles and ensuring accountability to high performance against zone and company objectives
Facilitates review and consolidation of sales strategies, operating models and workforces for current and future mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity
Serves as a senior member of the Specialty Vehicle, Household and Flood sales leadership team, collaborating with other sales directors toward the achievement of the national sales plan and refinement of region-specific sales strategies
Collaborates with leadership in Product, Marketing, Finance and other AORs to identify opportunities to maximize resources and employee skills to achieve sales plan
Creates and implements change management initiatives for the integration of sales strategies for multiple brands, products and agency workforces for current and future M&A activity
Develops and implements the annual strategic business plan for the assigned region to achieve the Specialty Vehicle, Household and Flood sales production, retention, appointment and profitability goals
Act as liaison for technology integration, ensuring tools align with sales strategy and drive adoption.
Optimize automation integration within IA sales channels to improve efficiency and scalability.
Monitor performance metrics to assess impact of technology and IA initiatives.
Drive cross-functional collaboration and change management within IA channels

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
10+ years of independent agency experience with extensive expertise in operating models, agency operations, and agency economics.
Experience integrating technology to support sales strategy and adoption, optimizing IA sales automation, and tracking performance impact.
Bachelor’s degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and execute long term initiatives to develop a sales organization’s people, processes and technology to support a rapid scaling up of growth.
Proven track record of achieving growth targets in personal lines
Leadership Traits
Proven track record of creating high performing teams and executing a sales plan resulting in an expansion of products and services
Track record of driving a team responsible for gaining commitments from prospective customers and effective use of sale closing techniques
Advanced knowledge of insurance company financial planning
Maintain a high level of commitment to personally getting things done, assuming personal responsibility for achieving expected results
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
