Astra is building mission-critical infrastructure for moving money at scale. Our platform processes billions in annual transaction volume with 99.9%+ uptime, powering real-time transfers, bank debits, card disbursements, and complex financial compliance systems. We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements.
The RoleAs an Implementation Manager at Astra, you will be the driving force behind customer success from contract signing through launch with our APIs. This is more than a traditional project management position – it's an opportunity to own the implementation experience that determines whether customers successfully launch on Astra's platform and realize value quickly.
You'll orchestrate the full implementation lifecycle: managing project timelines, coordinating across technical and business stakeholders, translating complex API requirements into executable plans, and ensuring customers launch on time and within scope. You'll also serve as the primary point of contact for customers during their onboarding journey, building trust and confidence while navigating technical complexity.
Because this is an early hire on the Integrations team, you'll have direct input into our implementation playbooks, process documentation, and the scalable systems that will support hundreds of future launches. You'll collaborate with leaders across Sales, Engineering, Product, and Compliance to ensure that every implementation runs smoothly and sets customers up for long-term success.
This role is perfect for someone with the project management expertise to drive results today and the systems-building vision to create repeatable implementation processes for tomorrow.
What You’ll DoProject Management: Own multiple customer implementations simultaneously from kickoff through go-live, managing timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time, compliant launches.
Customer Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during implementation, conducting kickoff calls, weekly status meetings, technical reviews, and go-live readiness assessments.
Technical Translation: Bridge the gap between Astra's technical capabilities and customer requirements, explaining API concepts, authentication flows, webhook configurations, and integration patterns to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate between Sales, Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless handoffs, clear communication, and aligned expectations throughout the implementation.
Documentation & Playbooks: Build and maintain implementation guides, project templates, technical documentation, and best practice playbooks that enable faster, more consistent customer onboarding.
Risk Management: Proactively identify implementation blockers, technical challenges, or scope changes, escalating issues appropriately and developing mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
Process Improvement: Track implementation metrics (time-to-launch, customer satisfaction, common bottlenecks) and recommend process improvements to accelerate future implementations.
Launch Execution: Coordinate go-live activities, including final testing, production launch planning, post-launch monitoring and customer success.
Required Experience
2-5 years of implementation, project management, customer onboarding, or technical customer success experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments company.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong understanding of API-based integrations — you should be comfortable discussing REST APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, and data flows with technical teams.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical developers and non-technical business stakeholders.
Track record of building structure from ambiguity: creating processes, templates, and documentation where none existed before.
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to drive successful outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Payments Knowledge: Familiarity with payment infrastructure (ACH, card processing, bank transfers), API integration patterns, and how businesses evaluate and implement financial technology.
Project Management: Expertise with project management methodologies and tools (Jira or similar); ability to create project plans, track dependencies, and manage timelines.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to read API documentation, understand integration requirements, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and ask the right questions to unblock implementation challenges.
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives, training technical teams, and documenting complex processes clearly.
Customer Focus: Empathetic approach to customer needs with a bias toward problem-solving; you build trust by being responsive, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to define success metrics, track project health, identify trends in implementation challenges, and use data to improve processes.
Implementation is the critical bridge between a signed contract and a successful long-term customer. Every project you manage, every launch you coordinate, and every process you build directly impacts customer retention, satisfaction, and Astra's ability to scale. As our Implementation Manager, you won't just manage projects – you'll be shaping the foundation of how Astra delivers value to customers.
Your work will:
Ensure customers launch successfully and realize value quickly, driving retention and reducing churn.
Create the repeatable processes and playbooks that enable Astra to scale implementations efficiently as we grow.
Build trust and credibility with customers during the critical onboarding phase, setting the foundation for long-term partnerships.
Provide valuable feedback to Product and Engineering teams about real-world implementation challenges and opportunities for improvement.
By joining now, you'll have an outsized impact on Astra's integration function and the chance to build systems that will support hundreds of future customer launches.
