Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for meeting and exceeding overall sales objectives while ensuring a high level of customer service when promoting ICS products and strategic initiatives. This individual contributor role interacts with potential, new, and existing Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

General Job Description

Planning

  • Main point of contact for all sales, quote, and transactional requests from prospects or clients
  • Create territory & specific account plans to achieve strategic sales objectives
  • Understand end-user market trends and industry best practices; utilize relevant value propositions to those end markets
  • Report industry trends, competitive pricing and intelligence, and customer feedback to management
  • Develop, build, and nurture trusting relationships with customers and internal resources

Prospecting

  • Prospect for, cold call, and qualify new OEM leads
  • Expand sales pipeline and manage sales funnel throughout the sales cycle
  • Perform product demonstrations via phone, video conference, and occasion customer visit
  • Owns, qualifies, and develops opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts

Selling

  • Learn all ICS products; gain proficiency in utilizing ICS Product catalog
  • Articulate key features and benefits of ICS products, provide verbal demonstrations, and describe value
  • proposition and total cost of ownership scenarios
  • Prepares, generates, and follows up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reason for loss of order
  • Increases orders by suggesting related items, identifying new applications, explaining features and benefits, and review of customer's buying history
  • Obtains orders, verifies and enters items, transfers orders to fulfillment, monitors stock-outs and expected delivery dates

Key Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detailed organization skills. Willingness to listen, learn, and apply knowledge to dynamic situations
  • Effectively use company CRM (Salesforce), ERP (Epicor), and other business systems daily
  • Collaborate with necessary internal resources to meet customer expectations; act as a liaison between internal product teams and prospects/clients
  • Reviews open customer order reports and acts on open items, including those items that may be at risk in meeting customer's promised delivery date
  • Routinely attend training sessions and team meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years sales experience, preferably in an Industrial or Manufacturing setting ▪ Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Independent self-starter with a hunter mentality
  • Ability to listen, adapt, and overcome objections
  • Ability to embrace change in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial distribution, engineering/technology or related degree from an accredited school preferred
  • Previous Industrial Automation, Cable, or Component sales experience preferred
  • Familiarity using Salesforce and/or Epicor preferred

Target Range: $20-$25
