  • Ability to perform probability and statistical analysis of hydrological datasets

  • Familiarity with a variety of software packages and modeling tools, in particular HEC-SSP, HEC-HMS, USACE time series toolbox, and other statistical packages

  • Familiarity with snowmelt methods particularly applicable to the mountain regions of the western USA

  • Familiarity with risk assessment framework for dams and hydropower facilities

  • 6 or more years of relevant professional experience an emphasis on hydrology and/or water resources

  • Experience with water resources challenges in Colorado, including precipitation and flooding data analysis; urban and rural hydrologic analysis; storm sewer analysis and design; open channel and pipe flow analysis; hydraulic structures; stormwater quality and green stormwater infrastructure design; bank stabilization and stream restoration; floodplain analysis and mapping; dam break analysis; dam and levee analysis and design

  • Ability to perform stochastic modeling of hydrological processes

  • Experience and knowledge of software packages HEC-SSP and HEC-HMS

  • Experience with development of hydrologic hazard curves

  • Knowledge of and experience with other software packages including RMC-BestFit, RMC-RFA, HEC-ResSim, RiverWare, LifeSim, or HEC-RAS

  • Experience with determination of low flows in a semi-arid environment

  • Experience with storm analysis including discrimination of storm types, orographic effects, and snowmelt considerations as well as with determination of the probable maximum precipitation and probable maximum flood

  • Experience with flood frequency analysis, including incorporation of paleoflood information
