Job Summary

The Hybrid Wholesaler is responsible for achieving sales results by supporting a defined group of targeted independent agents and IMO partners. This channel-aligned role focuses on deepening engagement with key partners by providing high-touch virtual/phone activities and strategic sales guidance, complemented by effective in-person visits and events.

Success in this role requires a balance in supporting National Accounts Manager(s) as well as management of individual relationships and contacts to grow sales. Activities include home office functions of account management (reporting, content creation, field and internal communication, virtual sales trainings, case support, CRM activity tracking, etc) as well as enterprising activities (self-directed in alignment with channel and account leaders) which effectively identify high-potential opportunities for delivery of sales support, marketing campaigns and case consultation. This Hybrid Wholesaler role will cover the states of OH, PA, WV, VA, NJ, MD, and DE. Living in the territory is a plus. 

Description                                                                                                                       

  • Support the growth of sales by efficiently managing high-volume phone, email and virtual inquiries in tandem with targeted in-field opportunities.
  • Partner with National Account VPs and National Account Managers to assist in new account onboarding, business development and account management.
  • On an ongoing basis, profile and document agent/account approach, strategies, trends, production, etc.
  • In person sales activities include: individual agent meetings, marketing meetings, training seminars, boot camps, agent conferences, back office training meetings, joint phone calls or appointments. You must have a willingness to host webinars and attend conference and meetings on weekends and evenings.
  • Demonstrate thorough, in-depth knowledge of F&G products, practices and procedures including: commission & contracting systems/processes, Salesforce, illustration software, relationships with TPAs, operations, and other F&G departments.
  • Train agents and marketers on F&G illustration software, e-App tools and agent website; troubleshoot and/or report system issues.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of life insurance industry and competitive landscape; Provide feedback to leadership on industry trends including threats and opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a designated target producers and key account-affiliated advisors; Serve as the primary wholesaler for assigned accounts, delivering consistent, personalized service and support.
  • Assist in creation and distribution of marketing materials including PowerPoint presentations, sales concepts and agent collateral.
  • Host webinars, small-group trainings, and one-on-one virtual and in-person sessions to educate agents on product positioning, underwriting, and sales strategies to drive business objectives and maximize placement.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by leaders and external sales partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Highly knowledgeable regarding annuity or life insurance marketplace, annuity products and IMO distribution
  • Ability to build mutually beneficial external and internal relationships
  • Superior communication skills - oral, written and interpersonal skills are critical; Maintain professionalism in communication and conduct
  • Appropriate management of travel budget to maximize results on investment
  • Positive, creative and collaborative approach to challenges and tasks
  • Drive to deliver results through extraordinary service quality and accountability
  • Expert in manipulating illustration software and technologically proficient and knowledgeable in sales support tools
  • Self-motivated with excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously as a part of a high-performing team
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel and Power Point required
  • Salesforce CRM proficiency required; Ability to accurately and consistently document activities
  • Effective and articulate presenter and trainer, virtually and in-person

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience

  • 5+ year of relevant experience in insurance sales, wholesaling, account management or financial services marketing
  • Demonstrated success in sales, relationship management and/or marketing functions
  • Combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • FINRA series 6 or 7, FINRA Series 63, State Insurance License required. 

Other Requirements

  • This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring long periods of sitting, regular use of a computer, and occasional standing or walking, with reasonable accommodations available.
  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance

Ability to Travel up to: 30% of the time.
