Position Type: Exempt / Salaried 
Classification: Regular/Full Time
Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000

Job Summary: The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for the D&SNGRR and D&S Bus Company including recruitment, employee relations, compliance and workforce support for both seasonal and year-round employees.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure recruitment of qualified employees while anticipating both seasonal and full-time business needs  
  • Work with department managers to improve the hiring process by providing training on candidate review, interview process and selection  
  • Accurately produce and process all employment related paperwork utilizing the company HRIS  
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of payroll to the Accounting department  
  • Manage all steps of the hiring process i.e., criminal history checks, MVR, PCE, drug testing, e-verify, etc., and off-boarding process, i.e., payroll, exit interview, benefit termination, company property return, etc.  
  • Oversee the creation and execution of new employee orientation  
  • Maintain current Company Employee Handbook and policies in conjunction with the AHR HR Department  
  • Oversee and manage the company’s Workers Compensation program for the D&S Bus Company. In conjunction with AHR assist with DSNGRR workplace injury/illness program including incident reporting, , directing care to designated providers, maintain files, implementing modified work assignments, and implementing incident reduction programs  
  • Assist with implementation and management of safety and risk management programs and processes  
  • Mediate and resolve employee relation issues, conduct thorough and objective investigations as needed and make disciplinary action recommendations when appropriate  
  • Provide resources and support to company managers for disciplinary action and maintain thorough documentation of performance issues  
  • Coordinate with legal department/outside counsel on appropriate issues  
  • Create and maintain accurate functional job descriptions for each position within the company  
  • Coordinate/Monitor performance evaluation programs making suggestions for revisions as needed  
  • Conduct annual salary surveys, analyze compensation and maintain salary range determinations  
  • Stay up to date on employment law changes with emphasis on state and local legislation  
  • Coordinate and provide assistance when needed to department managers for employee training  
  • Assist with administration and communication regarding employee benefits in conjunction with the AHR HR Department and AHR Benefits Team
  • Lead company managers in actively monitoring and seeking to improve employee engagement, improving workplace relationships, and improving company communication with a goal to be an employer of choice  
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Education, Skills, and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Administration or related field, OR 5+ years comparable professional experience required 
  • 3+ years in HR management  
  • PHR/SHRM-CP/SCP preferred  
  • Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS a plus  
  • Strong analytic thinker with a passion for process improvement  
  • Use of excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personalities 

 

Working Environment 

  • Primarily office-based with regular time in operational areas  
  • Occasional domestic travel
