About the role

The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing US HR operations, managing payroll, administering benefits, and providing exceptional support to our team. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of payroll and benefits, and the ability to build positive relationships across the organization.


Essential Functions – HR Management

  • Lead HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing HR expertise on employee relations and performance management.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, certifications, and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.


Essential Functions – Payroll and Benefits Management

  • Manage payroll processing through Rippling, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee payroll tax payments, benefits deductions, and time-tracking procedures.
  • Manage 401k contributions, matches, and compliance testing.
  • Liaise with benefits brokers and providers to address employee benefits questions and issues.
  • Stay current on employment tax regulations and payroll best practices.
  • Generate reports for senior management and finance as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provide occasional mentorship to junior HR staff when necessary

Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and employee relations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with HRIS and payroll platforms; experience with Rippling highly preferred.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in HR analytics and reporting.
  • Interest in AI and ML learning preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

Functional Requirements:

  • Primarily seated at a desk for extended periods, utilizing a computer for payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS system management.
  • Occasional commuting to different office locations (up to 5% travel), and the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds of office supplies or materials as needed.

Annual Salary range: $110,000 - $120,000
