The team manages several HPC clusters and workloads both on-premises as well as in the cloud. We work with rocket scientists and engineers to develop cutting edge solutions to complex space enterprise problems and to assure mission success of critical national space assets. In your role, you will develop and implement data management for our HPC environments, working and collaborating with other cross-functional team members who all have a strong sense of shared responsibility and ownership.

Work Model

What You'll Be Doing
- Provide technical HPC support to engineers and scientists using corporate HPC Linux compute clusters as well as large shared-memory systems.
- Install and maintain HPC file systems, optimizing storage system cost and performance
- Maintain HPC file system infrastructure including data protection, security patching and configuration improvements.
- Monitor and tune HPC file system performance, utilization, quotas and allocation
- Implement and communicate data lifecycle management, tiered storage, and data sunset
- Develop and implement efficient HPC data management policies and workflows to provide required performance while managing the cost of storing PB's of data
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Site Reliability Engineer Staff III:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in Linux system administration in an enterprise HPC environment
- Strong technical understanding of Linux, networking and storage systems
- Experience managing parallel file systems such as Lustre
- Experience developing and maintaining data protection for HPC storage systems
- Experience setting up HPC storage environments for both interactive and batch workloads
- Proficiency in scripting and familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet
- Experience hardening Linux systems to meet security requirements
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent that meets DoD 8570.01-m requirements for IAT Level II personnel
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Site Reliability Engineer Staff IV include:
- 7+ years of experience in an enterprise HPC environment
- Familiar with broad types of storage systems such as NAS, SAN, and object storage
- Experience implementing HPC data management strategy such as hierarchical tiered storage management that optimizes cost and performance
- Proven ability to develop enterprise solutions, lead cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Experience with cloud HPC, data storage, and cloud-based data backup and tiered storage
- Experience implementing and maintaining quotas with Lustre / DDN
- Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet for HPC
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
