Job Summary:

Our Housepersons play an essential role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment throughout the hotel. This hands-on position supports the Housekeeping team by maintaining public and back-of-house areas, assisting with linens and supplies, responding to guest requests, and helping ensure our guestrooms and hotel spaces remain properly stocked and guest-ready.

The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities throughout the hotel. This position requires a team-first attitude and a willingness to assist wherever needed to support our guests and Housekeeping operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain assigned public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, public restrooms, stairwells, and other common areas according to hotel and Marriott brand standards.
  • Support Room Attendants by delivering and retrieving linens, towels, guest amenities, cleaning supplies, equipment, and other items throughout the hotel.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for additional towels, linens, amenities, and other housekeeping items.
  • Collect and remove trash, recycling, soiled linens, and other materials from designated areas and dispose of or transport them according to established procedures.
  • Restock public restrooms, housekeeping closets, linen areas, and other assigned spaces with necessary supplies.
  • Maintain housekeeping storage areas, linen rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Assist with linen distribution and organization to ensure Room Attendants have the supplies necessary to complete assigned guestrooms.
  • Complete scheduled property and public-area cleaning responsibilities throughout the shift.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and other detailed cleaning assignments as directed by Housekeeping leadership.
  • Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged items, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department.
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of meeting spaces and other hotel areas when needed.
  • Properly use, store, and handle cleaning products, chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Follow established procedures regarding guest privacy, room entry, keys, lost-and-found items, and hotel security.
  • Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, and other hotel departments to support guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in department meetings, training, and ongoing initiatives related to safety, cleanliness, guest service, and Marriott brand standards.
Salary Description:

Starting Pay: $19.85 per hour, DOE 

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Previous hotel housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or professional cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and organized hotel spaces.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities throughout the shift.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills when interacting with guests and fellow team members.
  • Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and instructions for the proper use of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on hotel occupancy and business needs, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed throughout the hotel, including guestrooms, corridors, public areas, linen and storage rooms, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Regular use of commercial cleaning products, supplies, carts, vacuums, and other housekeeping equipment is required.
  • Team members may encounter varying temperatures, wet surfaces, moderate noise levels, and cleaning products commonly used in hotel operations.
  • This position requires frequent movement between different areas and floors of the hotel throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and remain physically active for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping, linen, and supply carts throughout the hotel.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive movements associated with cleaning and transporting supplies.
  • Ability to safely handle linens, supplies, cleaning products, equipment, and guest amenities.
  • Ability to move efficiently throughout guestrooms, corridors, stairwells, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
