Worksome is on a mission to make work better. We’re dedicated to creating a world where people are more productive and working on what they love. Our platform offers companies a seamless way to hire, manage and pay their external workforce - creating better experiences for everyone and more opportunities for people in the flexible world of work.

Worksome is a human-first company, with a culture rooted in trust, transparency and inclusion.  By prioritizing the needs and well-being of both our employees and clients we believe that we’re one step closer to creating a more agile and fulfilling world of work - for everyone.

Founded in Denmark in 2017, we currently have offices in Copenhagen, London and New York - and are rapidly expanding into new markets.

Worksome’s US EOR business already has significant traction with enterprise clients, what we need now is someone to own it end-to-end and architect the next chapter

This is a senior leadership role for a proven operator who has personally carried employment liability at scale.

You’ve managed the complexity of multi-state operations, you know what a defensible governance framework looks like, and you understand that compliance isn’t just a set of rules - it’s a commercial asset.

You will help us move the function from founder-led excellence to a deliberate, system-driven operation that is safe to sell at any scale and predictable to run

About the Role

You will take ownership of the strategic governance, operational integrity, and commercial credibility of our EOR product across the US. In your first year, you’ll stress-test the current operating model, define our Commercial Guardrails - what we sell, how we price risk, and where we draw the line - and systematise the function

  • Act as the ultimate internal authority on North American employment risk, labour law, and state-specific legislative changes - and serve as a key escalation point for complex classification, workers’ compensation, and tax nexus decisions.
  • Define and codify the Commercial Guardrails: the standards for what we will sell, how we price risk, and where we draw the line on non-standard deals.
  • Own the lifecycle integrity of the EOR product - from initial classification through to offboarding - ensuring a zero-failure rate for enterprise clients.
  • Partner closely with the payroll operations manager to build the documentation, controls, and escalation paths required for high volume, and reduce key-person dependency by turning expert knowledge into repeatable, systemised processes.
  • Oversee payroll funding integrity, reconciliation controls, and cost-to-serve modelling across North America, in close partnership with Finance.
  • Define incident response protocols for payroll and compliance failures, and lead post-incident analysis and corrective planning.
  • Support the Sales team as a technical resource during late-stage enterprise procurement and legal reviews - translating complex employment law into clear, actionable qualification rules for the Sales team.
  • Support regulatory feasibility assessments for new US state expansion, including classification rules and tax nexus requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Product to ensure the function is scalable, audit-ready, and aligned to enterprise standards across all US operating states.
  • Align with Legal to translate statutory employment requirements into operational policy, governance frameworks, and commercial guardrails for the EOR product.
  • Foster a culture of “Safe Growth” - where operational integrity is seen as a competitive advantage, not a blocker.

About You

  • You have personally carried employment liability decisions and managed the complexity of multi-state operations at a significant scale. You’re not learning on the job - you know what good looks like and you’ve built it before.
  • 5–8+ years in a leadership role within EOR, global payroll, employment compliance, or workforce operations - including US multi-state experience and a track record of scaling EOR operations.
  • You think like a business owner. You understand that compliance enables revenue, not just constrains it. You know how to price risk, defend a margin.
  • Proven ability to command the room with Enterprise Legal, Procurement, and CFO-level stakeholders. You’ve been in late-stage deals and you know how to hold your ground.
  • You’ve turned expert knowledge into repeatable, systemised processes. You know what a defensible governance framework looks like - and how to build one that scales beyond a single team or jurisdiction.
  • You’re a great coach; you have a team and you understand how to encourage, challenge and grow a team that works well together and thrives
  • Based in Denver, CO. This role is a key part of our US Operations Center.

What We Can Offer You

At Worksome, you’ll be part of a dynamic, fast-growing team where your decisions directly shape how the business grows. As we expand globally, you’ll have the opportunity to build something that matters - with the authority and trust to do it properly.

  • Base salary: $100,000 – $160,000
  • Meaningful equity stake commensurate with a senior leadership role
  • 70% coverage for medical plans across all tiers, and 75% coverage for vision and dental plans, with the option of an HSA account
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k), Worksome contributes 100% of the first 4%
  • 30 days of paid vacation
  • Paid sick leave
  • A role where your decisions will have direct commercial and operational impact
  • An opportunity to help define the future of global workforce solutions
