The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Head of Sales to lead and scale our go-to-market execution as the organization’s senior-most sales leader. As the organization’s senior-most sales leader, you will lead Alt Legal’s sales strategy and team, driving revenue growth and ensuring the sales team profitably achieves its goals. In this role, you’ll align sales objectives with company strategy and work with Customer Success to develop an integrated approach to retention and growth via our multiple product offerings. You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate cross-functionally with leaders across marketing, customer support, and product teams to ensure a seamless and aligned customer acquisition journey.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Aligns the sales organization’s objectives with firm business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Learn and refine the Alt Legal sales process by engaging directly with prospects during onboarding.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and our sales team to evolve and optimize our sales approach based on firsthand experience and feedback.
  • Implement a scalable, repeatable sales process with clear metrics, stages, and documentation.
  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline health, and overall revenue performance and board-level reporting with respect to the same.
  • Achieves assigned organizational objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix, retention, existing client growth and other strategic goals.
  • Supports the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within the company.
  • Establishes and governs the sales organizations performance management system. This includes establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales jobs; overseeing the equitable allocation of organization objectives across all sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales and sales management associates are held accountable for assigned results.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing sales team over time.
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance frameworks.
  • Provide coaching, enablement, and structure to support long-term team success.
  • Foster a strong team culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and the company’s long-term success.
  • Leads learning and development initiatives impacting the sales organization, and provides stewardship of sales and sales management talent

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing to align demand generation strategies and messaging with pipeline goals as well as to ensure the sales team is equipped with collateral, insights, and tools.
  • Partner with customer success to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent customer experiences.

Strategic Growth Initiatives

  • Contribute go-to-market insights to pricing, packaging, and product launch strategy.
  • Support M&A evaluations by providing sales-focused perspectives on potential targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, with 4+ years in sales leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience selling to both SMB and mid-market/enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity with legal tech or regulated industries (a plus, not required).
  • Analytical mindset and comfort using data to guide strategy and team performance.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Salesloft, and modern sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Startup mentality: proactive, adaptive, and ready to operate in a lean manner.
  • Empathetic, team-oriented leadership style with a good sense of humor.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High-energy self-starter as well as collaborative team player.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with senior business leaders.
