We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Sales – Germany and NATO to lead Vantor’s defense and intelligence sales efforts across the German government and NATO institutions. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for driving revenue, developing key customer relationships, and shaping long-term partnerships across the defense, security, and intelligence ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the German federal acquisition processes, NATO procurement mechanisms, and the broader European defense market. This role will have high visibility and impact, interfacing with senior government officials, defense industry partners, and Vantor’s executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Germany and NATO aligned with Maxar’s global growth objectives.
    • Lead pipeline development, opportunity qualification, and closing of strategic deals.
    • Represent Maxar at key industry forums, defense exhibitions, and NATO-related events.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
    • Build trusted relationships with German federal ministries (e.g., BMVg, BAAINBw), Bundeswehr, NATO commands, and related institutions.
    • Understand customer missions, pain points, and procurement processes to shape solutions and influence requirements.
  • Team & Partner Enablement
    • Collaborate closely with Maxar’s product, engineering, legal, and proposal teams to deliver tailored solutions.
    • Manage and develop strategic channel partners and local system integrators in support of sales objectives.
  • Business Development & Capture
    • Identify and shape new business opportunities within defense, ISR, and secure communications sectors.
    • Lead bid and proposal activities, including RFP response strategies, teaming arrangements, and pricing coordination.

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, business development, or government relations within the defense or space sector.
  • Proven track record of sales success within the German defense market and/or NATO ecosystem.
  • Deep knowledge of German government procurement and NATO acquisition processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build senior-level customer relationships and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, international relations, engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in Germany and/or NATO Secret.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working for or with German MoD, NATO ACT, NCIA, or related institutions.
  • Technical understanding of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), satellite systems, or ISR capabilities.
  • Experience managing distributed teams and working across international boundaries.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
