About The Role

OpenLoop is looking for a Director of Procurement to join our team remotely or at HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for leading company-wide sourcing, vendor management, and spend optimization efforts. You will build and scale a centralized procurement function that supports rapid growth while driving transparency, cost savings, and compliance—particularly with pharmacy procurement as a key operational focus.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and standardize a centralized procurement policy and process that promotes operational efficiency, spend visibility/controls, and compliance, integrating acquisitions as necessary.
  • Implement and optimize a new procurement software tool, ensuring configuration aligns with business needs and provides actionable reporting for leadership and department heads.
  • Lead annual budget planning processes in coordination with FP&A, aligning procurement strategy with financial goals.
  • Establish a collaborative framework with department heads to empower visibility and control of department-specific spend, vendor relationships, and budgeting.
  • Assess the current state of pharmacy procurement operations, systems, and supplier contracts.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation and optimization of pharmacy purchasing activities to leverage combined volume for cost savings.
  • Develop and implement an inventory management system for pharmacies to support supply chain visibility and control.
  • Integrate pharmacy procurement into the corporate procurement matrix to enable unified visibility of company-wide spend and supplier data.
  • Work closely with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure all procurement activities, vendor contracts, and policies meet regulatory and legal standards.
  • Partner with Legal to review and negotiate vendor contracts, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation language and service level agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, Lean Six Sigma) a plus.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, including leadership roles in high-growth or multi-location environments.
  • Proven success designing and scaling centralized procurement operations and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement software and spend management systems; experience with implementation is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance management.
  • Skilled in vendor negotiations, contract review, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
