About the Role
We are building out our insurance offering within a high-growth digital healthcare company and are seeking a seasoned Head of PMO to stand up and lead the project management office for this initiative. This role will serve as the connective tissue across all workstreams—ensuring we launch on time, on budget, and at a high standard of quality.
This is a hands-on consulting engagement with significant visibility to senior leadership. You’ll be expected to bring healthcare and insurance experience, strategic thinking as well as operational hustle.
What You'll Do
- Establish and Run the PMO:
- Stand up a lightweight but effective PMO to support the launch and development of a virtual sleep care business line accepting insurance
- Build and own the end-to-end program plan, governance cadence, risk management, and reporting structure
- Drive Cross-Functional Execution:
- Partner with business, clinical, legal, technology, revenue cycle, and external partners to manage dependencies and drive results
- Track milestones, escalate blockers, and ensure deliverables are met with high quality
- Steering Committee Engagement:
- Prepare and present program updates to senior leadership and the executive steering committee
- Translate complex program status into clear, actionable summaries
- Hands-On Program Delivery:
- Roll up your sleeves to fill gaps, drive alignment, and accelerate execution where needed
- Proactively manage scope, resources, and risks to keep the initiative on track
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in project and program management, including direct ownership of PMO setup and operations
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale healthcare initiatives, particularly in digital or virtual care environments that accept insurance
- Strong familiarity with payor integration, revenue cycle, compliance, and go-to-market coordination in a healthcare context
- Experience launching new businesses or capabilities, driving complex cross-functional integrations, or overseeing strategic transformations in healthcare
- Background in top-tier management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte, PwC, Accenture) is a strong plus
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence—comfortable working closely with C-suite stakeholders, Board members and external partners
- Operates well in ambiguity with a bias toward action, clarity, and accountability
- Available to work primarily during West Coast business hours

Compensation Range
This is a contract/consulting role and not eligible for company benefits. We expect the role to have a 6 month duration and be between 20-30 hrs/week. Competitive hourly rate or fixed fee, commensurate with experience. The hourly range for the role is $90-$125/hr.
