WorkHero is the AI back office for the skilled trades, starting with the $50B+ HVAC industry. We are at $1.5M in ARR, serve 55+ contractors across the country, and have raised over $9M in capital to date. We're hiring a Head of Growth to scale our growth engine and impact across the HVAC industry.

About WorkHero

At WorkHero, our mission is to help the tens of thousands of independent HVAC contractors get their time back and build stronger businesses.

Small HVAC contractors keep our homes comfortable, but running the office takes time away from serving customers and growing the business. Hiring a full-time administrator is expensive, and software alone still leaves someone responsible for the invoicing, collections, and paperwork.

WorkHero changes that. Our platform combines AI automation with expert HVAC office teams to handle back-office work inside the software contractors already use. We're backed by Navitas Capital, Workshop Ventures, York IE, and strategic angels including a former ServiceTitan executive.

The Role

You’ll own our growth marketing function: strategy, budget, acquisition channels, conversion, and measurement. Your goal is to build a repeatable engine for acquiring well-fit contractors at sustainable acquisition costs. You’ll own qualified pipeline generation, partner with our founding AEs on conversion, and use customer outcomes to sharpen our targeting and messaging.

Your initial focus will be strengthening our existing acquisition funnel, improving conversion and nurture, and establishing reliable measurement. You’ll then prioritize and test the next growth opportunities.

This is a hands-on, technical role. You’ll lead an existing bench of freelance specialists across paid media, content, and creative, with no employee direct reports initially. As we grow, you’ll help determine which capabilities to build in-house and hire the team. You’ll report directly to Furman Haynes, co-founder and CEO, with authority to set growth priorities and allocate the agreed budget.

What You'll Own

Strategy and budget. You will own the growth plan and the budget to deliver on it. You will be responsible for determining where the next dollar goes, and which channels to scale, test, or stop.

Customer insights, messaging, and creative. You’ll turn customer conversations and sales-call patterns into sharper positioning, messaging, and campaigns. You’ll work with our freelance content team to turn customer proof, industry voices, and product demos into content that generates qualified pipeline.

Paid acquisition. You’ll own paid performance, budget pacing, and creative testing, partnering with our freelance media buyer on execution. You’ll ensure conversion tracking and attribution into HubSpot are reliable.

Conversion and lifecycle. You’ll own improvements to website and landing-page conversion, lead nurture, and re-engagement. You’ll work with our AEs to turn more qualified interest into conversations and customers, with clear ownership of automated and personal follow-up.

Content marketing. You will work with our content marketing team to turn our best content into a true lifecycle marketing engine.

Measurement and reporting. You’ll make our funnel reporting and attribution trustworthy, maintain a useful growth forecast, and provide clear growth updates to leadership and the board. You’ll own the underlying systems, with authority to simplify or replace them where that improves reliability and decision-making.

Automations and agents. You’ll build and maintain automations for lead enrichment and qualification, routing, follow-up, reporting and more, using scripts, integrations, or agents as appropriate. You’ll decide what we keep, simplify, or replace.

Experimentation. You will identify and validate our next acquisition channels, which could include outbound, search, and industry partnerships.

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated growth experience. You’ve built or scaled a repeatable acquisition motion with a small team. You’ve owned multiple channels and their budgets, and can show how your decisions generated qualified pipeline and customers.

Analytical judgment. You can diagnose where a funnel is breaking, decide what to test, and distinguish real performance changes from tracking problems. You connect channel results to qualified pipeline, acquisition cost, and customer quality (not just activity or lead volume).

Builder mindset. You can independently build or troubleshoot marketing workflows and integrations. You’re fluent in building leverage around yourself using AI and have used tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable platforms to automate meaningful work. You know when to build, when to buy, and when a simpler process is enough.

Ownership mindset. You've fixed a conversion drop and have the before-and-after numbers. You've shipped content that produced pipeline. You've caught bad data before it drove a decision. We care more about what you did at an early stage with no brief than where you've worked.

True creativity. You like stepping back to ask who these people are and what would actually resonate with them. You can ship all week and still notice when the product has changed what we should be saying. You can write the first version yourself, not just brief someone else.

(Bonus) You've marketed to operators. You have sold to or marketed to small business owners, contractors, or field-service teams, the kind of people who have little time, buy something operational infrequently, and want to trust a person before they commit. This is not a requirement but certainly helps.
