If this sounds like you and you are driven by purpose, Join the SOPHiA GENETICS Business Development team and our Head of Global Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, and enable us to make a positive impact on the outcomes for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide.

Ideally, you will be in proximity to our US (Boston) or Switzerland (Rolle) Corporate offices on a hybrid work-schedule to facilitate collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders, however suitably qualified candidates can be considered on a remote basis across the US East Coast, UK or EU5. Due to the heavy collaboration with stakeholders in Europe, this role would not suit someone on the US West Coast or Central US. This role will include international travel around 30%.

Your mission

Reporting to the EVP, Chief Product & Medical Officer, you will lead, expand and manage our global partner ecosystem. This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for shaping partnership strategy, identifying new revenue opportunities, and driving strategic partnerships across the clinical and BioPharma markets.

What you'll achieve

  • Strategic leadership. Define and execute SOPHiA GENETICS’ global business development strategy, across the clinical and BioPharma markets. Serve as an advisor to the Executive Team and contribute to long-range growth planning. 
  • Partnership development. Identify, negotiate, and close high-impact partnerships across the wider data-driven medicine ecosystem to expand the adoption of the SOPHiA DDMTM platform. 
  • Market intelligence and opportunity scouting. Monitor trends in genomics, precision medicine, real-world evidence and BioPharma developments to identify new areas for value creation. 
  • Team leadership. Lead and grow a global business development team interfacing with the entire global SOPHiA GENETICS organization, including Sommercial, Product management, Marketing, Data Sciences and Technology. Foster a culture of innovation, disciplined execution and customer-centricity. 
  • Cross-functional collaboration. Work closely with product management, marketing, data sciences, technology, regulatory to ensure alignment between BD activities and overall company strategy. 
Requirements

We know that every background is different, but to be best set for success we see you bringing:

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Development, strategic partnerships and large enterprise agreements.
  • Direct industry experience in driving partnerships within a matching scientific environment – Precision Medicine, Health data, Clinical Genomics, Diagnostics, Instrumentation or Reagents
  • Deep understanding of genomics, NGS workflows, clinical diagnostics, BioPharma, and real-world data applications. 
  • Autonomously owning a global function, previous experience operating within an international environment and leading teams internationally is critical.
  • Exposure to alliance management and search & evaluation is valuable.
