Sequencing is hiring its first Head of Finance & Analytics to build the financial and data infrastructure that powers our next phase of growth. Reporting to the COO, this leader will establish our FP&A function from the ground up, own performance reporting for the executive team and board, and build a scalable analytics capability across Product, Growth, Customer Success, and Operations. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a builder who can translate complex financial and customer data into clear insights, drive capital discipline, and serve as a trusted strategic partner to the leadership team.
- Build and own the company's first in-house FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Develop dynamic financial models to support growth scenarios, capital allocation, and subscription revenue forecasting
- Own monthly and quarterly performance reporting for the executive team and board
- Partner with the Controller to ensure clean close processes and accurate financial reporting
- Define and own unit economics including CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and payback period
- Model subscription retention, cohort performance, and lifetime value dynamics to guide growth investment
- Oversee paid marketing financing facility and ensure full compliance with reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve gross margin and cash efficiency across the business
- Build the analytics function from the ground up, supporting Product, Growth, and Customer Success with actionable data
- Define company-wide KPI frameworks and standardize metric definitions across teams
- Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure that drive visibility into growth, retention, and engagement
- Translate behavioral, financial, and operational data into strategic recommendations for leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and COO on capital deployment, vendor relationships, and new initiatives
- Establish structured financial and KPI review rhythms across the leadership team
- Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing team of finance and analytics professionals
- 10+ years in finance, FP&A, or strategic analytics, with meaningful experience in high-growth environments
- Deep experience with subscription or direct-to-consumer business models
- Expert-level financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and long-range planning
- Fluency in unit economics: CAC, LTV, retention curves, payback periods, and contribution margin
- Proven track record building reporting systems and analytics infrastructure from scratch
- Comfortable working across both financial and complex behavioral or operational datasets
- Experience presenting financial performance and strategic insights to boards and executive teams
- Strong cross-functional influencer with a track record of partnering effectively with Growth, Product, and Operations
- Systems-oriented thinker who brings structure and rigor to ambiguous, early-stage environments
