At Credo, we’re on a mission to help heal people and improve lives through better access to care. Joining us now means you’ll have a massive impact on both the technical foundation and the culture of our team. You’ll be helping us scale, ship meaningful solutions, and shape the way we build from the inside out.

As an Engineering Leader at Credo, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a talented and mission driven engineering team while translating vision into execution. You’ll be the kind of leader who thrives in the middle of the action, guiding a  passionate team, jumping into code when needed, and helping us navigate the twists and turns of startup life. People will look to you not just for technical answers, but for clarity and momentum.

We’re open to candidates with a range of leadership experience. From high-performing engineering managers ready to step up, to experienced directors ready for a new challenge. We’ll tailor the exact title and scope based on the strengths of the person we hire.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Team Leadership & Growth: Hire, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of action, agency, learning, and collaboration.
  • Execution & Delivery: Spend 50% of your time with the engineering team shipping features, unblocking teammates, and reviewing architecture. Own the delivery of product and platform workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes in close partnership with Product and Design.
  • Engineering Operations: Improve team processes, increase velocity, and support technical excellence in everything from code quality to system reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders across the company to translate priorities into actionable technical work, and proactively remove blockers.
  • Hands-On Technical Guidance: Stay close to the code and architecture. Reviewing work, advising on decisions, and jumping in to help move things forward.
  • Scaling Systems & Teams: Help shape the long-term structure of the engineering organization and prepare the team for future growth in both complexity and size.

Ideal Qualifications for this Position

  • 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering, including people leadership experience (as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Director)
  • Track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments (ideally in a Seed to Series B stage company)
  • Strength in team execution and delivery management. Able to break down complex projects and keep things moving
  • Strong coaching skills with a passion for developing engineers and fostering inclusive, healthy team culture
  • Experience working closely with Product and Design to scope work, set priorities, and align on outcomes
  • Solid understanding of modern development practices, architecture, and infrastructure
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into technical work
