We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering organization through its next chapter. You’ll oversee two feature teams, quality assurance, application support and infrastructure. You will report directly to our VP & General Manager of the Groundfloor investment platform. This is a senior, cross-functional leadership role that blends technical strategy, people development, and operational excellence.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Grow the platform. Align engineering execution with product and business priorities, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality, scalable software
- Support your people. Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain a strong, diverse team of engineers and QA professionals
- Champion scrum delivery. Establish and evolve scrum best practices, drive sprint rituals, and foster a culture of ownership and velocity
- Partner cross-functionally. Collaborate with peers in Product, Operations, and Marketing to drive shared goals and deliver great customer experiences
- Own engineering quality. Promote a strong culture of testing, automation, performance, and security, especially in a regulated fintech environment
- Leader partnerships. Work with the other leaders of the business to get the team rallied behind our goals and understand the broader context of our strategies.
- Optimize team structure. Identify and fill talent gaps, streamline workflows, and improve communication across teams
- Raise the bar. Contribute to technical strategy, hiring, onboarding, and career growth processes that scale with the business
YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:
Must-Haves:
- 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 2+ years at the Director level or equivalent
- Proven success leading full-stack engineering and QA teams in SaaS or fintech environments
- Strong command of agile development methodologies and product-engineering collaboration
- Experience in high-growth startups and comfortable navigating evolving tech stacks and org structures
- Clear, empathetic communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with Ruby, React Native, Vue or Golang
- Experience working in a security- or compliance-heavy environment
- Background in consumer fintech, real estate tech, or other investment platforms
- Track record of improving engineering processes and career frameworks at scale
