Head of Corporate Development

We are seeking a Head of Corporate Development to drive and support growth and scalability for our rapidly growing organization.
The responsibilities of the Head of Corporate Development will include the following, reporting initially to the CEO:
M&A: Lead the execution of PlanHub’s inorganic growth strategy. Key elements include:
- Strategy Setting and Focus Area Prioritization: Lead qualitative and quantitative analysis and research to establish key M&A focus areas. Collaborate with ELT and GCC to articulate the strategic rationale and prioritize targets.
- Add-On Acquisition Deal Sourcing: Build and maintain relationships with bankers, management teams, founders, and other key stakeholders to develop an actionable add-on acquisition deal pipeline
- Deal Execution: Oversee all aspects of M&A deal execution, including commercial diligence, preparation of investment committee / Board memos, financial modeling, confirmatory diligence (legal, accounting, tax), documentation negotiation, and workstream coordination
- M&A Integration: Partner with the ELT and functional leaders to ensure seamless integration of acquisitions, ensuring workplans are clearly defined and executed smoothly. Act as the project manager, defining workstreams, coordinating with stakeholders (including any third-party advisors hired), and ensuring adherence to integration plans pre-and post-closing.
Organic Growth / Scaling: Manage PlanHub’s overall Value Creation Program in partnership with the CEO and ELT, including:
- Initiatives Tracking: Managing cross-functional initiatives tracking, including following up with responsible parties and key stakeholders to drive execution and provide the ELT, GCC, and the BOD visibility into progress on key initiatives
- BOP (“Business Opportunity Proposals”) Development: Development of BOPs (“Business Plans”), including gathering content, data, and perspectives from ELT members and summarizing these inputs into a cohesive business plan for initiative resourcing. Key components of the BOP include an Executive Summary, overview of the Business Opportunity (incl. PlanHub’s “right to win” and competitive landscape), Product Rationale and Plan, Technical Overview, Sales / GTM Plan, Org Plan, and Financial and Economic Impact
- Financial / Economic Modeling: Assisting with financial modeling / quantifying economic impact of initiatives (in partnership with PlanHub finance) to support decision-making by the ELT, GCC, and BOD
- Leading Execution of Select Organic Growth Initiatives: Managing / co-managing third-party advisors for specific initiatives (e.g., market study, pricing optimization), including agenda creation for read-outs, expectation setting with key stakeholders, data gathering within PlanHub to support the engagement(s), facilitating interactions between advisor(s) and PlanHub teams, and codification / driving adherence around follow-ups before and after read-outs
- ISV Partnerships: Develop a comprehensive strategy for, and lead execution of, PlanHub’s overall ISV integration partnerships strategy, including (a) potential white-labelling and/or integration of PlanHub’s offering inside other scaled Contech / software provider platforms, (b) two-way reseller partnerships between PlanHub and other pre-construction / Contech software businesses, and (c) other potential partnership arrangements.
- Market Intelligence / Strategy: Play a key role in leading market intelligence gathering and competitive landscape work to inform ongoing business strategy and growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include discussions with industry stakeholders, attending conferences, monitoring competitors’ strategic initiatives / product releases, and building cross-industry relationships in a manner that supports the CEO and ELT in the prosecution of the core business
- BOD Meetings / Materials: Collaborate with the CEO and ELT to prepare materials for the PlanHub Board of Directors, including:
- Board Meetings: Lead production of BOD materials, including (a) value creation initiative updates, (b) new business line updates (arising from the BOPs), and (c) aggregating and synthesizing content from PlanHub ELT members / functional leads as required
- Ad Hoc Discussions / Analyses: Develop materials for key business decisions required outside of the regular BOD meetings cadence (e.g., new business lines)
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, or a related field, with direct ownership of end-to-end M&A processes
- Proven end-to-end M&A execution experience, including strategy development, deal sourcing, diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing
- Demonstrated ownership of post-merger integration, including cross-functional workstream coordination and value realization
- Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations and executive-ready materials
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise to support both inorganic and organic growth initiatives
- Experience in preparing and presenting materials for Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives and external advisors
- Experience developing and executing strategic partnerships, including ISV integrations, reseller arrangements, and go-to-market collaborations
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment with evolving priorities; highly proactive, resourceful, and execution-oriented
- Proven experience owning business performance metrics for a marketplace, platform, or complex B2B product.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Product, and Data teams.
- Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience in construction technology, commercial construction, or vertical SaaS.
- Familiarity with General Contractor workflows, preconstruction, bidding, and subcontractor sourcing.
- Prior exposure to scaling companies through multiple growth phases
