About Us

We are Playbook, a leading creator platform for fitness, health, and wellness. Our mission is to help fitness creators build sustainable businesses, while enabling hundreds of thousands of users to live healthier lives.

We are a fast-growing company in the creator economy space, operating as a remote-first, product-driven team that values ownership, direct communication, and a strong growth mindset. We believe in "drivers, not passengers": everyone is encouraged to take responsibility, think proactively, and act like an owner.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Head of Content Marketing to own and grow Playbook's content function. This is a senior, high-ownership role for an operator who has built content engines before and wants to do it again, with a sharper brand and a bigger upside this time.

You will set the strategy, build the team, and ship the work. The first phase is hands-on; we want a leader who can produce at a high level themselves while the function is being built, and who knows how to balance short term priorities with the long term bets.

This role works closely with leadership across Growth, Product Marketing, and the Creator Team, and reports to the Head of Growth.

We are not looking for a prescriptive role. We are looking for the person who develops the playbook.

Responsibilities
  • Own the content strategy across organic search, social, video, written, podcast, and creator enablement. Define what we do, what we do not do, and why.

  • Set and maintain the editorial bar. Establish the production workflows, the quality standard, and the cadence the team can sustain.

  • Lead with the work. In your first phase, you will write, produce, and ship a meaningful share of the content yourself. We expect senior leaders to model the bar.

  • Build the team. Identify the right roles, hire the right people, and develop them.

  • Drive measurable outcomes. Define a small set of content KPIs and build the reporting that ties content output to pipeline, signups, and revenue.

  • Partner across the company. Coordinate with Growth, Product Marketing, Sales, and Product. Your work should compound theirs and vice versa.

  • Use modern tools to expand output. Identify and deploy the AI workflows, automations, and editorial systems that let a small content team punch above its weight.

Requirements
  • 8+ years in content marketing or content-led growth. You can show traffic, ranked positions, leads, and revenue impact tied to your work.

  • Hands-on producer. You can write the article, script the video, brief the editor, and approve the final cut. You are senior, but you are not above the work.

  • Cross-format fluency. SEO articles, video scripts, social, case studies, podcasts, long-form. You do not need to be elite at every format, but you need to be strong across the board.

  • Deep working knowledge of how SaaS and creator businesses actually grow: positioning, offers, lead generation, conversion, retention. You can hold your own in a tactical conversation with a sophisticated operator.

  • Strong organic search foundation. Keyword research, technical hygiene, internal linking, content briefs, and a credible point of view on AI search.

  • Track record of hiring and developing content talent. You know how to interview, coach, and unblock.

  • Operator mindset. You push for the best hook, not the "good enough" hook. You measure what you ship. You do not settle.

  • Exceptional communicator. We are remote-first and async-friendly; your voice has to carry the weight.

Nice to Have
  • Lived experience in fitness, health, wellness, or an adjacent creator vertical.

  • Familiarity with the creator economy ecosystem and the platforms creators use.

  • Background as a creator yourself. You have built and monetized your own audience.

  • Experience operating a podcast or video channel that found an audience.

  • Comfort working with data tools, BI dashboards, and modern SEO platforms.

  • A network you can tap for collaborations, and referrals.

What We Offer
  • Your work will directly affect creators and users on the platform. You will work on initiatives that ship quickly and matter.

  • Competitive B2B salary with equity options.

  • 100% remote with flexible working hours and async-friendly culture. Collaboration across Europe and the US.

  • A collaborative team that values ownership, open communication, and autonomy over micromanagement.

  • Yearly team retreats focused on connection, alignment, and building strong team relationships.

  • Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off. We expect you to take at least 4 weeks off per year.
