As a critical member of the 24/7 GSOC, the Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents and threats in real time to ensure the safety and security of Chewy's people, assets, and operations. This role provides situational awareness, incident management, and critical communication to support operational resilience and business continuity.
What you'll do:• Support an enterprise-wide GSOC that is staffed 24/7, with below responsibility as part of daily and weekly standard work.• Monitor all GSOC systems including Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools, threat monitoring, local utility outage reporting, and public safety reporting. If an incident meets our threat matrix, provide immediate proactive alerting, and enact security protocols as necessary.• Monitor and engaging with physical security systems including intrusion alarms, CCTV cameras, access control, and security platforms. This includes supporting review of data and footage, proactive audits of security hardware, and locking down doors during potential threats.• Weather monitoring through multiple sources and tools including daily reporting, 7- and 10-day forecast, providing CCTV snapshots of site conditions, using OSINT tools for roadway conditions and closures, and severe weather monitoring and reporting. During severe weather events support daily, sometimes multiple times daily, weather calls informing Operations and support partners.• Indoor environmental sensors, Food Safety, and Cold Chain monitoring, interacting with partners when out of thresholds.• Proactively monitor exterior environmental conditions such as AQI, proactively alerting sites of issues and enacting EHS plans.• Future state, as we evolve our systems, monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and alert site teams when sensors are outside thresholds.• Respond promptly to incoming GSOC calls, alerts, or reports, analyzing the initial intake, determining severity, and initiating appropriate response protocols.• Lead activation of Incident Management Team (IMT) including applying system to alert partners, lead IMT discussion, capture follow-up actions, and support leadership through incident coordination and communication.• Assess, analyze, and categorize security or safety risks during active incidents, ensuring timely escalation and resolution aligned with GSOC procedures.• Support emergency management and business continuity plans, assisting with notifications, communication updates, and situational tracking.• Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of all incidents, responses, and communications using GSOC reporting tools and databases.• Draft post-incident summaries, assist with after-action reviews, and contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements.• Act as the central communication hub during security events, ensuring consistent and professional messaging between responders, site leadership, and corporate partners.• Communicate clearly and confidently with leaders, Team Members, and external agencies under high-pressure conditions.• Lead emergency management training, tabletop exercises, and live drills to maintain operational readiness and enhance GSOC proficiency. Capturing lessons learned and consistently improving training content from partner inputs.• Support implementation and testing of new GSOC tools, technologies, or standard operating procedures (SOPs).• Assist in mass notification testing, data accuracy reviews, and updates to emergency contact and response lists.• Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information.• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service within the GSOC team.• Provide shift handover briefings, ensuring continuity of information between outgoing and incoming personnel.• Perform additional duties as assigned by GSOC leadership to support security operations and enterprise resilience.
What you'll need:• Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Analysis, Applied Intelligence, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).• 6+ years of previous experience in intelligence analysis, incident management or emergency management, with a demonstrated ability to handle real-time situations effectively.• Experience in security operations, monitoring systems, or operational workflows.• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and handle various tasks.• Familiarity with GSOC tools (e.g., video surveillance, access control systems).

- Previous experience working in a 24/7, high-pressure, operational environment such as a 911 dispatch, corporate command center, or military command center.
- Industry certifications such as CPP, PSP, or Emergency Management certifications (e.g., FEMA NIMS, ICS).
- Graduate Certificates or Master's degree in Applied Intelligence, Intelligence Analysis, Global Security, or Emergency Management.
- Experience with SIEM tools, OSINT platforms, and other GSOC-related technologies.
- Working knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS) principles.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external partners.
