The intern will support the Government Affairs team by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, conducting research, and monitoring policy publications.
Proof is seeking a motivated and curious undergraduate student to join our remote Government Affairs & Public Policy team. This exciting internship offers the chance to work on cutting-edge tech policy initiatives with an innovative team that has a proven track record in pioneering legislation nationwide. You will collaborate closely with an experienced public policy and legal team, and have opportunities to work with business, product, marketing, and communications teams.
Proof is dedicated to improving the way businesses and individuals execute critical transactions in areas like real estate, institutional investment/retirement, insurance, healthcare, and wealth management. This involves understanding, evaluating, and informing a wide range of federal and state laws, rules, and licensing regimes, and applying them compliantly within a digital and online framework.
This dynamic and pivotal role is ideal for candidates seeking hands-on experience in Government Affairs at a tech tech startup with an expansive vision.
As our Government Affairs & Public Policy Intern, you will:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with policymakers and industry leaders nationwide, attending and taking notes as needed
- Prepare materials and brief the Proof team for legislative meetings, fly-ins, and industry events
- Monitor press and policy publications on various topics and prepare internal briefing memos
- Assist with research projects and the development of nationwide advocacy campaigns
- Monitor and virtually attend hearings, speaking engagements, and more
What we're looking for:
- Previous internship experience in a state or federal legislative office, on a political campaign, or at a public affairs or government relations firm
- An interest in politics and policy issues, particularly concerning cutting-edge technologies
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a U.S. college or university
- Strong academic record
- Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Precise attention to detail
- Motivation to learn and grow
- Familiarity with AI tools, such as LLMs or related technologies
- Some familiarity with graphic design tools and social media platforms is a plus
- Previous experience, familiarity, or interests in the SaaS/tech industry is a plus
Position Logistics
- Remote opportunity, based in the U.S.
- $20/hour
- 20 hours per week
- Begins late-August 2025, with potential opportunities to continue beyond the semester
