Job Summary The Business Development Strategist develops and executes upon strategic plans to expand and enhance business opportunities within Public Sector. This individual generates new business through various business development activities including identifying and strategically targeting existing and potential customers. As needed, the Business Development Strategist mentors junior members of the team and serves as escalation point
What you will do:
* Articulates value proposition to partners and customers.
* Build and manage the relationships with our partners and distributors.
* Trains and educate team members on new and existing offerings, tools and sales skills.
* Manage workload allocation, priorities and distribution of duties.
* Represents company at external business networking opportunities, conferences and events
* Attends customer onsite meetings, business reviews, as needed.
* Develops partner-facing business plans to secure advantageous pricing or appointment to contracts.
* Drives incremental revenue and profit growth through contract wins and strategic sales initiatives.
* Participates in annual planning sessions.
* Establishes metrics to monitor sales efforts and recommend strategies to increase sales.
* Develops sales approach and strategies to enable account managers and inside sales reps to sell services.
* Evaluates processes and make improvements to create efficiencies.
* Ensures work schedules provide sales support during normal business hours.
* Leads and executes business development strategies specific to Cloud solutions (particularly Google Workspace) in Public Sector.
* Partners with Google Cloud teams (internal and external) to drive adoption in public sector, with a focus on solution positioning, upsell opportunities, and customer success
What we expect of you:
* Bachelor's Degree required
* Minimum 5-yr. experience in business development/sales role in technology field
* Proven experience selling Cloud solutions with a track record of driving revenue growth through direct sales and partner-led motions.
* An understanding of public sector procurement processes, compliance, and regulatory environments (e.g., FedRAMP, StateRAMP, FISMA, etc).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Highly organized with the ability to coordinate and orchestrate cross-functional teams.
* Strong analytical and planning skills and creative thinking.
* Demonstrated collaboration behavior with excellent facilitation and negotiation skills.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects, meet deadlines, facilitate change and delegate responsibility.
* Understanding of how contract vehicles work in Public Sector.
* Travel 25% Preferred
* Google Cloud Foundational certification preferred
