Role Summary
Sophos is looking for a dynamic and strategic Global Vice President of Sales Development (SDR) to lead our high-performing global SDR teams across all theaters (Americas, EMEA, APJ). This is a newly created, mission-critical role designed to unify our SDR functions under one executive leader, reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Sales Development at Sophos—aligning demand generation, pipeline creation, and sales-readiness under a cohesive global vision. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of proven sales leadership, operational discipline, and a passion for developing top SDR talent into world-class sales professionals.
As Sophos continues to scale rapidly following the acquisition of SecureWorks MDR business and evolving market opportunities, having a unified and empowered SDR organization is essential. This role will be pivotal in transforming Sales Development into a world-class engine of growth that delivers qualified pipeline and nurtures next-gen sales talent.
What You Will Do
- Global Leadership: Build, lead, and inspire a global team of SDR leaders and individual contributors focused on both inbound and outbound motions across all major geographies.
- Strategic Vision: Drive the global strategy for Sales Development, including org design, theater alignment, segmentation, and pipeline contribution.
- Operational Excellence: Define and execute standardized processes, KPIs, cadences, and training programs to scale pipeline generation effectively across the business.
- Team Development: Foster a high-performance culture with strong career development, mentorship, and coaching practices that prepare SDRs to move into quota-carrying roles.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, Enablement, and Product to ensure campaign alignment, seamless handoffs, and consistent messaging.
- Technology & Data: Oversee global SDR tech stack adoption (e.g., Outreach, Salesforce), lead with data to identify trends, drive decisions, and report outcomes.
- Culture & Motivation: Cultivate a culture of curiosity, ownership, and impact across diverse teams and regions; reward excellence and celebrate wins.
- Innovation: Continuously test and implement modern approaches to outreach, personalization, AI-assisted prospecting, and conversion best practices.
What You Will Bring
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Sales Development or Sales leadership roles, including global or regional management of SDR/BDR functions.
- Demonstrated success leading global teams in high-growth SaaS or cybersecurity environments (ideally $500M–$2B in revenue).
- Proven ability to scale SDR functions, launch new markets, and create repeatable pipeline generation engines.
- Strong understanding of demand generation, pipeline metrics, and how SDRs integrate with Marketing and Sales GTM motions.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational change leadership.
- Executive presence and the ability to represent Sales Development at the senior leadership and board level.
- Passion for talent development and growing future sales leaders.
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $210,000 to $350,000. In addition to the base salary, there's a component for target sales commissions alongside a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
