Acts as a cybersecurity and AI security subject-matter expert, mentors technical teams, supports cross-functional product efforts, and represents Sophos in customer and industry engagements. Travel up to 50% across North America and internationally is required.
About the Role
Sophos is seeking a Global Solutions Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across two strategic growth areas: our Managed Security Service Provider program and our expanding portfolio of AI security solutions. This is a highly visible individual contributor role for someone who can combine deep cybersecurity expertise, hands-on technical capability, partner engagement, and strong business acumen.
In this role, you will help MSSP partners design, launch, and scale differentiated managed security services powered by Sophos technologies. You will also serve as a global subject matter expert for Sophos AI security solutions, helping customers and partners understand, evaluate, and secure the use of AI across modern environments.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading executive-level technical conversations, advising SOC and security engineering teams, building labs and demonstrations, supporting proofs of value, and translating complex cybersecurity and AI concepts into clear business outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary Solutions Engineer for Sophos’ global MSSP program and strategic partner opportunities.
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, architecture workshops, demonstrations, and proofs of value with MSSP partners.
- Help partners design and scale managed security services using Sophos Fusion and the broader Sophos cybersecurity portfolio.
- Advise partners on service architecture, integrations, automation, operational readiness, and repeatable service delivery. AI Security Domain Leadership
- Act as a global subject matter expert for Sophos AI security solutions, including AI Defense and future AI offerings.
- Lead demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of value that help customers and partners evaluate AI security risks and solutions.
- Build hands-on AI security demos, lab environments, attack simulations, and repeatable technical evaluation methods.
- Share field and market insights with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, and go-to-market teams. Global Leadership and Field Impact
- Create reusable technical assets, enablement materials, service blueprints, and field-ready best practices.
- Mentor Sales Engineers, partner engineers, and other technical stakeholders to strengthen global field capability.
- Represent Sophos in customer briefings, partner events, webinars, technical communities, and industry forums.
- Build trusted-advisor relationships with partners, customers, security leaders, and technical decision-makers.
MSSP Program Technical Leadership
What You Will Bring
- 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Security Architecture, security consulting, MSSP engineering, or a similar customer-facing cybersecurity role.
- Experience supporting MSSP sales, partner engagements, service architecture, or managed security service development.
- Strong knowledge of modern security operations, including MDR, XDR, SIEM, SOAR, endpoint security, cloud security, threat detection, incident response, and security integrations.
- Deep understanding of MSSP business and technical models, including the requirements for delivering repeatable services to multiple customers.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, generative AI systems, AI application architectures, and the security risks associated with adopting and operating AI technologies.
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, integrating, operating, and troubleshooting cybersecurity products and tools.
- Experience building labs, demonstrations, workshops, proofs of value, and technical validation environments.
- Ability to work with APIs, automation, cloud platforms, modern application architectures, Linux and Windows environments, networking, identity systems, and security telemetry.
- Exceptional technical discovery, consultative selling, presentation, storytelling, demonstration, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical engagements with partners, customers, and internal teams across multiple regions.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across North America and internationally. Nice to Have
- Direct experience working in a Security Operations Center, security engineering organization, incident response team, or cybersecurity leadership role.
- Experience designing, operating, or bringing managed security services to market.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, APIs, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with cloud AI platforms, AI agents, model APIs, local or private models, open-source AI technologies, containers, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience speaking at industry events, publishing technical content, or representing an organization as a cybersecurity subject matter expert.
- Relevant cybersecurity, cloud, architecture, or AI certifications.
- Experience with Sophos technologies.

In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $136,500 to $227,500. In addition to the base salary, there's a component for target sales commissions alongside a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
