Global SEO Specialist  (Contractor) | Acorns

Acorns is seeking a results-driven and strategic Global SEO Specialist to help elevate the discoverability and performance of our global online presence. You are a seasoned SEO expert who thrives at the intersection of technical optimization, content strategy, and customer insight. You see search not just as a traffic driver, but as a critical brand experience.

In this role, you will lead a comprehensive SEO audit and strategy across Acorns.com, Acorns Early, and GoHenry UK. You’ll be responsible for identifying key areas of opportunity, building a future-ready keyword framework, and enabling the internal team with the tools and systems required to sustain growth long-term.

This contractor role is for a duration of six months, with potential to expand, and requiring 40 hours of work per week.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely within the United States, while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA.

What you will do at Acorns:

  • Conduct technical SEO audits for Acorns, Acorns Early, and GoHenry UK websites

  • Diagnose and prioritize crawlability, indexation, site speed, broken links, and duplicate content issues

  • Evaluate site performance against Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and structured data best practices

  • Audit and optimize sitemap and robots.txt configurations

  • Deliver a prioritized, actionable SEO roadmap for each site

  • Build a comprehensive keyword universe aligned to brand pillars and user intent

  • Identify high-impact short-tail and long-tail keyword opportunities

  • Map keywords to existing content and highlight content gaps or new page opportunities

  • Recommend keyword-targeted themes and content strategies

  • Analyze competitor sites for SEO strategy, backlink profiles, and SERP positioning

  • Identify and prioritize SERP features (e.g., featured snippets) worth targeting

  • Recommend and configure SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and GSC

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies across traditional search engines (e.g., Google), YouTube, and emerging AI search platforms

  • Set up dashboards to monitor traffic, rankings, and SEO performance metrics

  • Provide training and documentation to empower internal teams to maintain SEO health

  • Define KPIs, establish baselines, and recommend a cadence for measuring and reporting SEO impact

What you will bring to Acorns: 

  • Proven experience conducting in-depth technical SEO audits across multiple domains

  • Strong understanding of modern SEO best practices including Core Web Vitals, structured data, and mobile responsiveness

  • Expertise in keyword research with a focus on aligning content to brand strategy and user intent

  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console

  • Ability to translate complex SEO data into clear, actionable insights

  • Experience building SEO dashboards and reporting frameworks

  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of measuring and communicating SEO impact

  • Knowledge of both U.S. and U.K. SEO landscapes is a plus

Compensation Information:

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $40/hour and $45/hour; however, compensation offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Company reserves the right to modify hourly rate at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
