A Day in the Life

The Director of Global Marketing – Diagnostics will lead our global diagnostics portfolio, encompassing the PillCam and Esophageal Diagnostic platforms. This critical leadership role is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive global marketing strategy to drive adoption, market development, and innovation in support of our aspiration to improve early detection and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. 

As a key member of the global marketing leadership team, this individual will guide strategic portfolio direction, oversee product lifecycle management, lead new product launches, and manage a high-performing team of global marketers. This position requires a strategic thinker, an inclusive leader, and a collaborative cross-functional partner who can influence globally and deliver exceptional business results.

Reporting to the OU Global Marketing Director, this individual will lead a team of innovation managers and market development managers and will be based in Santa Clara, CA or Lafayette, CO.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Portfolio Leadership

  • Develop and lead execution of the global marketing strategy for the diagnostic portfolio and associated products/services including cloud, connectivity and artificial intelligence.

  • Oversee product lifecycle management for existing products and shape the long-term vision for the portfolio in alignment with market needs and strategic objectives.

  • Identify and champion key global expansion opportunities through customer insights, market analysis and collaboration with cross functional partners.

  • Create and refresh the 5-year strategic global marketing plan.

Team Leadership & Development   

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product and market development professionals.

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence, inclusion, and accountability.

  • Manage financial resources within assigned budget to achieve key goals of strategy execution.

  • Set clear objectives and ensure alignment to Operating Unit and enterprise-wide goals.

Commercial Execution & Market Development

  • Drive global launch readiness and execution for new products and indication expansions.

  • Develop and drive execution of the US marketing plan.

  • Collaborate with regional marketing and sales teams to adapt strategies for local success.

  • Partner with integrated marketing to develop compelling messaging and commercial assets, and to generate awareness through omnichannel marketing and convention strategy.  

  • Partner with functional leadership in developing go-to-market and market development strategies including operations, clinical, health economics and reimbursement and education.

  • Establish strong relationships with influential healthcare professionals, societies and institutional decision makers including those in clinical and health economics.

  • Employ market research to regularly assess market opportunities and trends.

  • Understand the multi-stakeholder needs and key issues to successfully develop and position the portfolio in the marketplace.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong partnerships with other functional leaders (including business development, R&D, clinical, regulatory, sales and finance) to guide product innovation and market success.

  • Partner closely with WW regional managers in adapting global marketing strategy and executing regional plans.

  • Establish a practice of consistent communication across all global stakeholders.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in product marketing, market development, strategy and/or portfolio management, or advanced degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in marketing, market development, strategy and/or portfolio management.

  • 7+ years of people, program or project management experience

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering, life sciences or related

  • Demonstrated success in team leadership and people development.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working within a matrixed organization.

  • Strong business acumen, communication, and strategic thinking.

  • Experience in medical device diagnostics.

  • Experience in software as a medical device.

  • Knowledge of gastrointestinal diagnostics or endoscopy markets.

  • Prior experience at Medtronic or a similar global MedTech organization.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):192,000 - 288,000.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
