Join Sysco’s Global Sustainability Team and play a key role in advancing our data-driven sustainability strategy. As a Global Data & Reporting Analyst, you’ll help build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers Sysco’s global ESG reporting. You’ll design automated pipelines, manage technical data processes, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of sustainability data used for internal reporting, regulatory disclosures, and customer transparency.
This position is ideal for a technically skilled data professional who’s passionate about using analytics to make a measurable impact on sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize automated data pipelines using Python, Power Query, and SQL to collect, process, and analyze large datasets from multiple global sources.
Lead efforts to collect, validate, and manage data (QA/QC) from internal and external systems, ensuring consistency and high-quality reporting.
Support global ESG and sustainability reporting—including regulatory frameworks and voluntary disclosures such as CDP, Ecovadis, CSRD, and TCFD.
Manage databases and data warehouses; perform advanced data analysis and generate dashboards or reports that support key sustainability and operational decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to understand data needs, streamline workflows, and automate manual reporting processes.
Support responses to external stakeholder inquiries, benchmarks, and investor surveys related to Sysco’s sustainability performance.
Assist in ad-hoc sustainability projects, tracking metrics and progress, and preparing materials for executive and board reporting.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
2+ years of experience in data automation, scripting (Python), SQL, and managing large datasets.
Strong knowledge of data collection, QA/QC, ingestion, and reporting processes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills in English (B2+ or higher) and ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
Familiarity with sustainability metrics, ESG reporting standards, and environmental data management.
Experience with Power BI, data visualization, or other analytics tools.
Knowledge of the foodservice distribution and supply chain industry is a plus.
Understanding of sustainability certifications (e.g., MSC, Certified Humane, Fair Trade) or related frameworks.
