Who You Are:

As a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Engineer at Citian, you will play a key role in applying and advancing geospatial technology within our platform. You will utilize your expertise in geospatial data types, database management systems, and contribute to the development of GIS solutions. You will work closely with scientists and engineers within the software development group to build foundational aspects of our software lineup and complete geospatial data projects. Duties:

  • Geospatial Analysis: Apply geospatial analysis techniques using tools such as ArcGIS, ArcPro or QGIS.
  • Database Management: Manage geospatial databases efficiently, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a keen mind adept at problem-solving, and contribute to the team’s success.
  • Embrace the startup mentality by wearing multiple hats and stepping outside traditional job roles as needed. Your versatility and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities will be key to our success in a dynamic and evolving landscape.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Sciences, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of increasingly technical experience in GIS applications.
  • Strong familiarity with ArcGIS, ArcPro or QGIS is a requirement.
  • Experience in Python and/or SQL is preferred but not required
  • Passion for geospatial data types and database management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build new technologies, software, hardware, & methodologies and contribute to the team’s efficiency.
