The GIS Platform & Data Engineer supports the ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator through hands-on engineering across geospatial data management, enterprise data lake operations, DevOps, application development, and automation. This role ensures GIS data products and applications are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with corporate real estate needs.
ResponsibilitiesGeospatial Data Engineering & Data Lake ManagementDesign and maintain authoritative geospatial datasets supporting sites, facilities, and portfolio analytics.
Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines integrating enterprise systems into GIS-ready data products.
Administer geospatial datasets within the enterprise data lake (e.g., ADLS Gen2), including raw, curated, and consumer zones.
Implement data quality controls, metadata standards, retention policies, and secure access management.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for GIS apps and automation scripts (Azure DevOps/GitHub).
Automate environment promotion and repeatable deployment processes.
Create automation using Python, PowerShell, and ArcGIS REST API.
Develop and enhance GIS applications and integrations with enterprise platforms (e.g., BI tools).
Support monitoring, incident response, and platform reliability improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience in GIS engineering, data engineering, DevOps, or related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and service publishing.
- Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and enterprise data lake concepts.
