About This Role
The Funding Specialist is responsible for the timely submission of the Install and PTO packages to finance partners at each respective project milestone. This role requires accurate reconciliation of milestone payments, familiarity with the solar installation process, and seamless coordination with internal teams and external finance partners to process funding. The Funding Specialist will manage and streamline the funding process by tracking project milestones, clearing funding blockers, documenting payments and project statuses, and staying current with finance partner compliance requirements.
Overall Responsibilities
- Submit the Install and PTO packages to the finance partners as soon as project milestones have been achieved
- Track Milestone payments once approvals have been granted and ensure that all accounts are reconciled at all times
- Document funding submissions, approvals, and rejections to ensure the account is dispositioned correctly at all times
- Report, document, and track all funding blockers and rejections
- Coordinate with Field Operations to ensure timely funding submissions and timely resolution of funding blockers and rejections
- Track project progression and ensure no credit expirations or funding clawbacks occur
- Maintain professional and mutually beneficial business relationships with all finance partners
- Stay up to date with all lender compliance and funding requirements and report any changes to the appropriate departments and business units
Qualifications
- 2 years of solar funding or general finance/accounting experience
- 4-year degree in finance/accounting/business or related field preferred. Can substitute with relevant experience
- Qualifications and skills needed to perform duties:
- Attention to detail
- Data input and analysis
- Proficient with spreadsheets and reporting
- Inter-departmental communication
- Loan processing and lender compliance
- General familiarity with the solar industry and installation process
