Abnormal Security is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join the Premium Email Products (PEP) team. The PEP team builds & operates Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. Our objective is to automate the SOC team’s workflows by providing them with reliable, intuitive, and delightful products that give them time back in their day.
This is a full stack team which is responsible for all the layers - stretching from the database layer and bubbling all the way up to the UI. The ideal candidate will have worked across the stack and has in depth knowledge about frontend and backend development. This role is 70% back end (Golang and Python) with 30% front end (React/Javascript).
What you will do- Design and execute software projects that are crucial to Abnormal’s success with a team of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-ToMarket teams to implement, verify, and iterate on issues and requests from our customers.
- Raise the standard of excellence in engineering by actively sharing knowledge within the team and engaging in professional development activities.
- Hit the ground running by contributing to the team's work within the first two weeks
- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
- 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications
- Experience with our stack:
- Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
- Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
- Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
- Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices, and conventions
- Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
- You’re growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
- You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor in your daily workflow
- Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
- Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
- Experience working with LLM-powered tools and AI assistants
- Knowledge of containerization
- Experience with distributed systems
