Applications are accepted until further notice.

As a Full-Stack Engineer on the Geneva team, you will help shape the future of network management through AI integration. The Meraki Dashboard is a central platform that IT teams use to monitor and configure their networks, and your work on the AI Assistant will make this platform even more powerful and intuitive. You’ll join a collaborative, innovative group that values inclusive collaboration and creative problem-solving. Together, we will deliver features that simplify sophisticated tasks, provide intelligent insights, and improve the daily lives of network administrators around the globe.

What You Will Do:
  • Design and develop AI-driven features for the Meraki Dashboard Assistant, working across the stack from database to user interface.
  • Integrate machine learning capabilities into the dashboard – for example, embedding intelligent recommendations and automation that help users tackle problems faster and make informed decisions.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code using Ruby (on Rails) for backend services and TypeScript (with frameworks like React) for front-end components.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – you’ll work with product managers to refine requirements, UX/UI designers to create intuitive workflows, and data scientists/ML engineers to bring advanced analytics to life in the UI.
  • Optimize performance and reliability of the new features, ensuring the AI Assistant can handle data from millions of devices at scale while maintaining a snappy, secure user experience.
  • Lead and mentor by example: Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and guide junior engineers. You will help uphold a high standard of engineering excellence and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What You Bring:
  • Extensive software development experience building and shipping web applications or services in a production environment (typically 3+ years).
  • Proficiency in backend development with Ruby (Rails experience highly preferred) or a similar server-side language/framework and strong front-end skills with TypeScript and experience using a modern web framework (e.g. React, Angular, or Vue) to build rich user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with integrating AI/ML technologies – experience working with machine learning models or APIs, or eager to learn how to incorporate AI-driven features into applications.
  • Proven understanding of databases and web architecture: comfortable designing data models and writing efficient SQL queries (experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases is a plus).
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with an ability to mentor peers and learn from them.
  • A growth mindset: excitement to pick up new technologies and continuously improve your skills. You stay curious about industry developments, especially in the AI/ML space.

If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't flawlessly align with every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply anyway. Your unique background and passion could be a phenomenal fit for this team or another opportunity!

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
