Job Summary
Are you interested in joining a team that’s working on a large-scale observability project? As a full stack developer (Engineer 1), you will learn to design, build, and support specific components of a large-scale observability platform. You will work with other engineers and researchers with backgrounds in advanced fields such as big data and machine learning. As a key member of the team, you will help define, refine, and test state of the art algorithms, and scale the associated systems for high performance, stability, and availability.Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering team, product, and user experience to understand new requirements.
- Refine and estimate new deliverables.
- Implement new application programming interfaces, backend services, front-end user interface components, and automation tasks to specification provided with the assistance of senior team members.
- Understand platform usage and assist with production deployments and customer issue triage.
- Work with engineering team to build backend applications that can be hosted on cloud platforms.
- Develop web applications with the assistance of senior team members that can function during backend service and internet connectivity interruptions.
- With the assistance of senior team members, use tools to identify and mitigate production incidents within the defined MTTR (Mean Time To Recover) key performance indicator.
- Focus on creating re-usable web components that can be leveraged by multiple teams, if needed.
- Create self-contained microservices or application programming interfaces to support the business logic.
- Develop using the defined coding standards and practices established by the team.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Preferred experience:
- Exposure to developing or troubleshooting distributed systems, either through coursework, internships, or personal projects
- Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases; hands-on experience is a plus
- Exposure to Java development through academic projects, internships, or bootcamps
- Some experience or interest in learning Go
- Basic understanding of Linux and comfort working in a command-line environment
- Exposure to Python programming, ideally through school or side projects
- Foundational SQL knowledge and ability to write basic queries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn and collaborate

Primary Location Pay Range: $80,842.17 - $121,263.25Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
